Marriott Sends Out ‘Shared Points’ E-mails In Error (Past Transfers)

Marriott has sent out e-mails to loyalty members that have shared points with another account in the past. The e-mails are as follows:

<name> , you recently shared points from your Marriott Bonvoyâ„¢ account.

Here are the details:

  • Number of points: XXXX
  • From account number: XXXX

People are receiving these e-mails from point transfers that they have done in January of 2019 (maybe even earlier). It’s not clear why these e-mails were sent out but Marriott having an IT issue doesn’t exactly surprise me. Rest assured no additional transfers have been completed.

Email came in from a transfer done December 6, 2018. But like you said not surprised to get Bonvoyed errors these days.

got one too. Marriott is a complete joke. I did the transfer on 4/25

I got that and called them up. They were clueless about it but luckily there was no activity on my account about this. Luckily the transfer was to my husband who received an email saying he received points.

haha I recieved email on both accounts today and I was very confused. I did this transfer on 3/27/2019.
