The Fine Print
- By clicking “start membership” for this Instacart Express membership promotion (redeemable between October 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021 11:59pm PT), you agree to the Instacart Express terms the Instacart Terms of Service and Privacy Policy and you will receive a 2 months membership.
- After 2 months, your Instacart Express membership will automatically convert to an annual plan and $99 will be automatically charged to your default, active and registered Mastercard on file with your Instacart account at the time of renewal. At any time prior to the end of the 2 months, if you do not want to be enrolled into an annual membership, you can change this default by clicking “Change my plan” on the Instacart Express page.
- You can cancel your Instacart Express membership at any time by clicking “Cancel membership” on the Instacart Express page.

Our Verdict
This enrolls you in auto billing so if you don’t cancel you’ll be charged $99 annually after the two month period expires, so remember to cancel. Problem I’ve seen with Instacart is pricing being more expensive than purchasing with a store directly, although that isn’t the case with all stores apparently. As always make sure to price compare to ensure you’re not getting over charged.
Hat tip to reader Bob
I just got an email from Apple Pay offering 2 months membership free. I used the Mastercard offer before. The new offer worked on the same account.
Wonder if this will work with Paypal Key (Mastercard). If Paypal Key links with Chase Freedom Flex, would that mean 1% base + 4% grocery + 4% Paypal = 9% cashback. This makes it free delivery + 9% cashback
If I have more than one Mastercard, will it be possible to add a second one after the 2 months is over, and get another 2 months?
Steps:
1. Go to http://www.instacart.com/mastercard
2. Click “Get Started” to create your account
3. Once logged in, click the green “Redeem Offer” button on the page
4. Next, input your Mastercard credit card, debit card, or prepaid card information (Mastercard HSA and FSA cards will not be accepted)
5. Once you fill out the required information, click Start membership to begin your Instacart Express membership
William Charles please add the link since many are asking how to activate..
Sorry thought I had included that
Is this a targeted offer? how do you activate it?
Sounds like other folks are getting good Instacart offers too. I got $75 off $100, can be used 2x. I didn’t believe it at first so I read and re-read the terms. Unbelievable almost.
Where do you see this?
Thanks, might use it when my monthly sub expires. Instacart seems to be locked in a price war in my area – I am getting pretty good offers like $50 off $75. I still prefer to get my fresh food in person, but I can live with not-always-optimal produce and meat when I get that type of discount.
Wonderful. Couple of days back, I have got an targeted offer from Instacart – $20 off next 3 orders. Time to dig up the Inbox.
How does this work – I just need to add a mastercard to Instacart account and it will give free membership for 2 months?
Go here: http://www.instacart.com/mastercard
Click “sign up for instacart” and there will be a link for “already a member” or “log in” or something like that. Once you log in, it’ll have a link to “redeem offer”
I got that email too and shopped thru Instacart yesterday. Although I did everything right in the terms still did not get the credit. Reported the problem with customer service and they asked for the screenshot of the email. Will see if I get the credit.
William Charles it would be helpful if you add link

In case you have Food Lion near you, their prices on Instacart are same as in-store and your purchases also get you rewards on their loyalty program. Been buying Food Lion via Instacart for a few months now and its amazing!
I believe the prices are set by local individual stores, and not nationally
