Just my opinion but: MC prepaids suck. Go Visa or go home.

Anybody know the phone number of the matercard gift card which is on the back? I received the e-gift card and the status is on hold, saying I need to call the custorm serivice. I called 8336234266 but was told they cannot find my card number in their system, was told I need to call the gift card service number/

Can you deposit to DraftKings using these? I tried Vanilla Visa’s and it was declined. I think it’s because the eVisa cards don’t have billing address associated with it and DK specifically wants your cards belonging to the account holder.

Anybody having trouble seeing the card numbers of these MasterCard e-gift cards? I keep seeing the messages “A system error has occurred. Please try again later.” after purchasing these e-gift cards yesterday. I called the CS and they couldn’t help.

Does the issuing company refund you or send a new one?

You can no longer (as of a change made last year) register Vanilla cards with your name or zip code, which makes them useless for online payments with many merchants and services. I also used to get rid of residual balances by loading Amazon, but that stopped working reliably (worked sometimes). When I called Vanilla CS regarding the sporadic Amazon rejections, I was told that Amazon is a “restricted merchant” and that I should try to use the card elsewhere.

I’ve also had numerous issues with physical cards from Vanilla (cards were already drained, defective, or regularly locked due to Incomm’s super-sensitive fraud algorithms); however, I still would buy them occasionally when the Chase Flex 5x bonus category was PayPal, as you could get them in-store at CVS using the PayPal QR code, and earn 7x points. That play is now dead; as is my relationship with Vanilla.

These do suck. I tried to reload my Amazon GC balance but kept getting denied. Based on a Reddit post, I used “gift card” instead of my name when adding the GC to my Amazon wallet and it worked.

Thanks for sharing! Just used this offer to buy a $500 card with Paypal (5x on Chase Freedom this quarter), and was able to pay off $500 of my Entergy bill.
