Are people having lots of problems with Meijer store GC’s getting the magnetic strip not working, or is it just me? I have used lots of different GC’s boughht at lots of different places over the years, and have not had to deal with so many bad mag stips on these Meijer cards purchased across the past 6 months.

I don’t normally shop Meijer, but figured for 10% off I’d use it for a week or two. Turns out there is nowhere in the app to add your gift card, and they cannot be used for online or pickup orders.

Just an fyi for anyone who gets this, the gift card must be kept and used in store only. Bummer for somebody like myself who primarily does pickup orders.

I think I saw somewhere that it has something to do with fraud, that someone could just use the numbers. I would think the covered PIN would be enough but who knows. Walmart grocery was like that too, not sure it still is, that you can’t use gift cards for grocery pickup.

It looks like the original coupon was removed and replaced with a new one that has slightly different wording to clarify that the max savings is $25. The first coupon was gone from my clipped coupons and I clipped the new one.

“10% offWhen You Buy $25 or More in Meijer Gift Cards with mPerks. Limit $25 in savings.”

When You Buy $25 or More in Meijer Gift Cards with mPerks. Limit $25.” Terrible small print, like what the hell do you mean?

$2.50 isnt worth the hassle unless YOU shop there.

Limit of $25 off, not $2.50. While it’s not the best of detail, it says buy $25 or more so it’s not limited to just a $25 gift card.

I am not sure about now, but I was able to use Meijer GC to purchase VGC few months ago.

Could you detail how you were able to make this work? Attempting to apply a $10 test payment using a Meijer GC to a multi item order via SCO resulted in an error as did doing a stand alone order. In both instances I tried to buy a Visa Gebit. I did not try Mastercard nor 3rd Party giftcards if someone wants to add that data point.

Just use it as a normal credit card (at self check out)

Side note, anybody wanna chime in on how this store compares to others in terms of stock, pricing and service? Pass by one in OH for a quick purchase some years ago and didn’t give myself enough time to really check out the store.

Tikky It’s my preferred store over Jewel (Albertsons/Safeway) or Mariano’s (Kroger). Seems to have those odd type of products so I can do one stop shopping. Prices are competitive and stock hasn’t been an issue for me. In Chicagoland area.

Depends on the competition. Sale prices are normally good, but Kroger has had better sales lately. You can’t beat Meijer offers on diapers/formula-nobody comes close. Produce is normally higher quality, but hasn’t been lately. High demand sale items do go out of stock. 5 years ago I’d say Meijer got 75% of my grocery money and Kroger got 25%, now it’s 50/50. If I still lived in NE Ohio without Kroger, I’d shop at Meijer almost all of the time. Customer service is solid, although lines can get long due to not enough checkouts open.

William Charles This is only valid for one day, 2/3/24.

The coupon says valid 2/3/24 only, not valid until 2/3/24, so might want to update the post.

Coupon says “valid 2/3/24 only” so I don’t think this is live yet…

I’ve noticed that this time of year, end of Jan/Feb is always a bit stingy on offers.

They’ll be back soon enough.
