In this review we will look at the Merrill Rewards for Business Visa Signature. Keep in mind as far as I know there is no application link for this card, unlike the personal Merrill Lynch MERRILL+ card. Update: There is now a working application link.
Card Basics
- Card earns 1x point per $1 spent
- Points can be redeemed for 1.5% cash back directly into an eligible account
- Points can also be redeemed for airline tickets (same rate as the personal card, more on this here)
- No annual fee
Our Verdict
This card is somewhat interesting due to the fact that points can be redeemed for 1.5% cash back, unfortunately you can’t combine these points with the personal card and you also can’t get the 10/25/75% relationship bonus. You can apply for this card in branch or by phone on 800-481-8277, although with no sign up bonus I’m not sure why you’d want to.
If you want a card with a sign up bonus, I’d recommend one of these cards in this linked post instead. If you want a card that earns at a higher rate than 1.5% I’d recommend one of these cards instead. Thanks to reader Curm for finding out some of this information.
“there is no application link for this card, unlike the personal Merrill Lynch MERRILL+ card.”
to be fair, there isnt one for M+ anymore either. so kinda the same situation now…
That’s true
Any datapoint on Bank of America issuing 1099-INT for Merrill cards?
My bonus points for the Merrill+ card posted in Dec 2016 and there’s nothing showing for the 1099-INT or 1099-DIV statements on my account.
Had to navigate the B of A phone tree for a while and spoke to 3 different people, but here’s what I found out:
To apply, must call 800-481-8277 or apply in branch.
Card benefits:
– No annual fee
– 0% interest promo for 7 months, then 12.24%
– No foreign transaction fee
Points cannot be combined with the Merrill+ card.
You can transfer the 1.5% cash back to a B of A business checking or personal account, but probably won’t get the 10/25/75% relationship bonus.
No current incentives beyond the 0% interest promo.
Thanks Curm. Updated post.
