The Fine Print

• $200 checking bonus is available to new checking customers only, who have not had an open checking account with FCNB in the last 12 months.
• Eligible accounts include Real Life Cash Back Checking, Real Life Interest Checking, My Life Checking and Student Life Checking.
• Offer is exclusive, not transferable, and is limited to one per household.
• Bonus will be deposited into the checking account after the account has been open at least 60 days and is in good standing.
• Bank will report the value of the offer to the IRS as applicable.
• Promotion ends February 28, 2023.
• All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them

Easiest account to keep fee free is MyLife Checking this has a $3 Monthly Service Charge waived when statements are received through e-Statement or account has an average daily balance of $2,500 or more during the statement cycle.

Early Account Termination Fee

I wasn’t able to find a fee schedule so unsure if there is any EATF, but easy to keep account fee free anyway.

Our Verdict

Bonus itself seems great as there are no requirements and you just need an eStatement to keep the account fee free. Downside is you have to open in branch.
