Update 4/1/22: Chase has now extended the Dashpass benefit for most co-branded cards to get 12 months from activation. Valid for Southwest, Marriott, United, Disney, IHG, British Airways, Aer Lingus, Iberia, and World of Hyatt. Chase Freedom and Slate cards get 3 months. FAQ
Update 12/30/21: This benefit seems to have been extended through 3/31/22. (While it still shows as 12/31 on the main landing page, it’s apparently showing 3/31/22 in the login.) Hat tip to reader Mark W; Update 12/23/21: You can enroll in this offer through 12/31/21 and get a full year of DashPass. Here’s a nice tip from Viper3773: the complimentary Sapphire Reserve DashPass is set to expire for a lot of people on 1/31/2022. You can cancel that now, remove the card from your DoorDash profile, then add a different eligible Chase co-branded card, and you should then have DashPass until 12/23/2022 or whichever date you do it (plus you should see a $10 DoorDash credit).(Note: The DashPass benefit for the Sapphire Reserve card can be enrolled in through 3/31/22 while on most of the other cards the final enrollment date is 12/31/21.) Update 7/20/21: Chase/DoorDash are now offering (link) an additional $10 credit when you activate this benefit. Valid until Sept 6 as part of the Summer of Doordash promotion.
Original post:
Chase offers a free 1-2 years of DoorDash DashPass to Sapphire cardholders (all versions) and 3 months to Freedom and Slate cardholders. They’ve now added the benefit to most of their co-brand cards with one free year of DashPass, a benefit which typically costs $9.99 per month.
DashPass offers zero delivery fees, lower service fees, and 5% back on pickup orders.
This new benefit is valid for one year after activation. If you don’t need it now – hold off activating and you’ll get a full year from activation. Just be sure to activate before December 31, 2021 when this offer ends. After 12 months you’ll be automatically charged $9.99 each month, so set yourself a reminder.
Eligible cards:
- Southwest cards
- Marriott cards
- IHG cards
- British, Aer Lingus, Iberia cards
- United cards
- World of Hyatt cards
- Disney
- Starbucks
If your Chase card is a Mastercard, this offer can stack well with the $5 twice-monthly Mastercard benefit for DashPass members.Â

If I paid for a year subscription of DashPass a couple months ago (they gave me a discounted offer), and now add Sapphire Reserve which gives a year of DashPass, do I basically lose the rest of the year that I paid for? (The DoorDash FAQ seems to say that, but I’m wondering if anyone has tried it.)
I just got 12 months free with a co-branded card I’ve had for several years. The DoorDash site says you get this offer once per card. It does not appear it has to be when you first get the card, which is what this article and others say.
Any idea what happens to my DashPass from CSR if I downgrade to a freedom? Do I get 3 additional months or lose DashPass?
I logged into door dash the other day to see if there were any deals and noticed dashpass was deactivated. I haven’t used doordash since signing up for this and using the 50% off next two orders promo that was happening.
I see a banner for a Chase x Dashpass since I have the Marriott Bonvoy, it signs me up for a trial but it ends next month. I contacted support but they have no idea what I’m talking about. I literally have an email from when I saw this deal posted that “Your will be charged $9.99/month on 3/31/23*” but I couldn’t get my dashpass benefit activated for another year. I decided to cancel cuz I don’t feel like fighting a charge next month. Wonder if anyone else runs into this issue.
I checked my DashPass on DoorDash and it is extended and complimentary till 12/31/24 via Chase Sapphire Preferred!
Correction – the twice a month $5 MC benefit ends on April 11, where it changes to once a month. So be sure to order twice before April 11th!
Can I pay with Door Dash gift card (in full) and still receive door dash benefits? anyone tried?
Yes, I do this all the time.
Wow, just got an email saying they’re extending my DashPass thru 12/31/24.
Under Chase United benefits, it says complimentary Dashpass membership till 12/31/24. I just signed up for Dashpass using Chase United and it said 12 mo complimentary trial. Hope it gets updated later on as mentioned under the benefits.
Chase’s site shows the correct date of “by 3/31/2022” now too.
FYI the dash pass benefit seems to only be for when you are using your chase cobrand card. I had set this up in December and it worked great but I tried to use for a work meal on a business card and it said “Update your payment method to an eligible Chase co-brand card to unlock DashPass benefits.”
yep that’s the same as the CSR’s worked.
