I wrote about my previous two Chase INK 90,000 points bonanzas, and just got my third approval last week.
Back in June 2022 I applied for the INK Unlimited at 75,000 points, which was subsequently matched to the new 90,000 points bonus. Not long after Chase increased the bonus on the no-fee INK cards to 90,000, I was approved for the INK Cash card.
I decided to lob in another application, this time for the INK Unlimited card. The previous two cards were for a business using an EIN and business address. This time I applied for a separate business which operates under my social security number and my home address.
I did have to upload documents to verify my identity and address. My driver’s license worked for the personal verification, and a bank statement showing my home address worked for the address verification. After a quick phone call into Chase my application was approved. Yay! He didn’t even ask me any questions, seems like it was just a matter of reviewing the verifying documents.
As with prior applications, I applied using a friend’s referral link. He gets a 20,000 points bonus for each one of my approvals.
I’ll likely knock out the spend mostly with a federal tax payment, an idea Chase themselves have promoted in the past.
For me this 90k offer is one of the easiest wins available due to the high bonus, ease of cashout, and relatively low spend requirement. A common rule that some people follow is to apply for one Chase business card and one personal card (or two personal cards) every rolling 30 days. Some people hit it even harder than that. Personally, I feel comfortable applying every few months and so I waited a bit between applications. The 90k offer will undoubtedly end at some point…it’s been going on for a bunch of months already.
Seems a bit misleading without mentioning your 5/24 status. With lol/24, I haven’t had any luck with target mailers, “free-for-all” in December, “just for you” offers, etc.
I believe I’m under 5/24
(misleading? lol)
I have all the ink cards and it’s been at least 3 years since I hit the welcome offers. Can I just close the card and reapply? Should I wait for bit after closing? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
No need to close. You can have multiples of the same card.
All my cards used my SSN on the application. So you’re saying I don’t have to cancel the old cards, and I can just apply for new cards with my SSN again?
I guess I’ll give it a try!
I was approved using same SSN. I am 2/24. Initially the application was pending for secondary review. 1-2 weeks wait time. Called recon line and 28 mins later they approved the card. They didn’t ask about SSN at all. Expedited shipping.
But do you get the bonus again? I think the terms state that it should be more than 24 months since last bonus AND should not have that card. Am I just mistaken?
One of the rare cases where terms are not enforced. 😉
What about getting the same card (a 2nd ink cash) for the same EIN (not SSN?). I know you can get multiple under your SSN, but what about EIN?
Yep! I have 2 Ink Cash both under my EIN.
How would you justify the need if you had to call the recon line and they asked why you needed it?
e.g, to categorize/organize spending/purchases…. no?
Hey, sorry to hijack this thread a little bit, but I lost the other article, but you had posted something about using a CC to put a deposit down on a car and then using a debit card to do the refund to cash out. Is it just as easy as that? Any tricks to ensure it works? Any issue getting the deposit back? TIA
Never had to call. As Bulba stated though, two cards to organize different expenses.
Is there any risk of getting shut down for having too many Chase cards as reported in some blogs? I have 5 personal cards & 3 biz (all sole prop) cards. I don’t want to close either IHG card personal card because they no longer approve a second card, and I use my Sapphire & two Freedom cards. I plan to go after the Southwest companion pass this fall (timed to receive SUB in Jan). The only time I’m applied for two Chase cards within 6 months is a mix of one personal & one biz.
yes chase has a separate department that look at these and they don’t care how many cards or who approved you. their only business is to shut down and permanently ban from doing business with chase. all existing products/accounts will be closed with 60 days time limit to use up or lose the existing UR points you have. I personally apply for one chase card every 12 to 24 months with chase , citi and amex.
2 chase cards every 30 days? 😳
Those were good ole times before 5/24
The velocity guideline of 1/90 isn’t so that you have a better chance of getting approved. It’s a guideline to avoid getting shutdown after the fact. People here spouting that every 30 days is safe are more than welcome to “be the DP they want to see”, but there have been reports of people getting shutdown for that velo whereas I don’t think I’ve seen a single one of those who spaced out every 90 days being shut down.
Personally I just got approved for my 5th in 12 months (so literally one every 91 days on the date).
Crazy how they shut you down even without MS. You get shut down for literally abiding by the terms and spending money with the card.
Any problems or DPe on meeting SUB spend on an INK Cash card with purchasing gift cards at Staples/Office Depot, or is that just an issue with Amex cards?
no problems here x3. just be prepared to approve fraud warnings from your phone/sms/email at checkout.
“A common rule that some people follow is to apply for one Chase business card and one personal card (or two personal cards) every rolling 30 days.”
Apologies for what may be a stupid question, but how does one sustain 1 (or 2) personal card(s) every rolling 30 days with the 5/24 rule? (And, once past 5/24, same question for business cards.)
Not a stupid question, I thought the same thing…. Its only doable this way 3 times or so.
it reads: keep doing this forever or up to 3 times. Kinda a big difference. Perhaps you should adjust your article?
Yeah you would run into the 5/24 with personal cards. If you apply strictly for biz cards they don’t count against 5/24. However, you cannot get approved for any biz cards once over 5/24.
@Kyle. Not over but at 5/24. That’s an important distinction that should be made clear. If you’re at 5/24, Chase won’t approve you for any cards.
OK, thanks — that’s what I was thinking. I was concerned there might be some 5/24 workaround for personal cards that I wasn’t aware of, lol.
Chuck living up to the “be the DP you wanna see” motto.
many people cry when they got shut down abusing the system by applying for many cards, very often… or surprised why there are no new good bonuses…
strike while the iron is hot bro
never been a better time than right now
Maybe, the approval odd is higher and less scrutiny if you have Sapphire or Private banking relationship as Chase is known for utilizing credit cards to attract customers for mortgages or investment. I parked more than $100K in the Chase investment account with a Sapphire relationship. I was able to open 4 personal and 3 business cards in 9 months back in 2019-2020. I also reduced the credit line lower: Only $10K on Chase Sapphire Reserve and $5K credit line on other cards. But I would say it’s safer to open only 1 every 90 days.
