Update 4/26/21: Both of these deals are back. Note: the details on Sierra Club have changed slightly from what’s written below – seems you can now do a single $15 donation and get 8,000 MyPoints ($50).
Original Post:
Swagbucks/MyPoints have moneymaking offers for making charity donations:
- Sierra Club: Make a donation of $15 or more to Sierra Club and earn 10,000 Points ($63). Must remain a member for 35 days to receive Points.
- Looks like you’ll need to end up making two donations of $15 in order to get the points. So you’ll end up at $30 cost and getting 10,000 for first donation + 800 points for second donation. 10,800 is worth around $68.
- Similar offer available on Swagbucks as well for 6,000SB + 500SB ($65).
- ASPCA: Earn 10,000 Points when you make a minimum monthly donation of $19 to the ASPCA.
- Looks like a single $19 donation would still get you the 10,000 points ($63), though the points will pend for 32 days so there is some risk in canceling before the second charge.
- This one is showing just 3,000SB ($30) on Swagbucks, so not a moneymaker.
Important note: Sierra Club donations are apparently not tax deductible whereas ASPCA donations are tax deductible. As always consult a tax advisor for the ability to use the deduction in this situation.
I stopped posting charity deals since some people aren’t comfortable with moneymakers from charities and since they typically spam a lot of mailers to their donors. Someone sent these in and I decided to post these as they are nice deals and given the ASPCA looks to be tax deductible and would then work well with the $300 above-line charity tax deduction for 2021. As always, do what you’re comfortable with or donate more to ensure the charity does not lose.

ASPCA charged my card for the second month even after I paused the monthly donation, stating I needed to “allow 30 days for the changes to take effect.” Beware!
Showing 10000 points on Mypoints again
Chuck
Anyone did the ASPCA offer recently? I searched and it showed 10,000 points. So I did the offer but got 1 point pending only!
Contacted MyPoints and gave me a copy/paste response that does not make any sense. They don’t even read.
Same and same, avoid.
Those uncomfortable can serious go screw themselves. Dr of credit please assume that the majority of people are trying to save money and live better and you are doing godly work helping them, screw the tiny hearted angels.
ASPCA charged me again and it has only been 2 weeks which makes this a money loser. I’m starting to regret doing these deals when these companies use shady tactics.
I did Sierra Club through mypoints but was not tracked. Contacted mypoints and was told to wait for the full 90 days. Now it’s been 90 days so I filed a ticket 2 days ago but no response. Is there a way to chat with a live person with mypoints?
When you submitted the ticket you would have got an automated response from Mypoints. You have to respond to this email and say that you want them to investigate why you haven’t received the points. That’s what they told me even though it says no where in the automated email that you have to respond. I now always respond to this email and I do get a response after a few days.
Done. Thank you so much for the tips!
It’s been a week but still no response. Will complaint to BBB work?
TLDR: I got my points after filing a BBB complaint against Prodege.
Feb: clicked the link on mypoints.com and donated $15 for 2 consecutive monthly to Sierra Club. The transaction was not tracked so I filed 2 tickets. I was asked to wait for 90 days per the T&C.
May: I filed a new ticket but didn’t got any response. Then I filed another ticket and followed up 3 more times but still got no response.
June: I filed a BBB complaint against Prodege.
July: points were posted to my account.
I did the ASPCA MyPoints one a few months ago, worked perfectly. Donated $19 to a good cause and get a small tax deduction to boot. Cancelling was very easy and took 2 minutes over the phone (have to call in though).
I normally try these SB deals but frankly Sierra Club is the most spammy organization I have ever had the misfortune of giving my email to. No thanks.
Trust me – do not do those! Too many spam mails!
Swagbucks is a scam in case anyone was still questioning it
