Our Verdict
I normally don’t pay much attention to car rental promotions because I almost never rent a car. That being said I know this is a popular promotion and can be extremely useful for some people so here we are.
Hat tip to Running With Miles
I love this offer! This would be very beneficial to a traveler like me!
Thanks for the heads up. I loved this promo last year. I rent for work sometimes and ended up with about 10 free rental days that I was able to use for some traveling. I was also able to use the codes to book a rental for the SO’s parents when they went on vacation. Major in-law points, lol.
A qualifying rental is a paid rental Midsize or larger for 2 or more consecutive days during the promotion period
(National changed the minimum qualifying rental length from 1 day to 2 days last year. The 2 day minimum is only mentioned in the fine print)
Doc, might be worth noting that holders of World Elite Mastercards or Amex Platinum can get Executive Status which allows you to choose your car for the executive aisle whilst only paying for a midsize. This is particularly useful when it comes to hiring 7 seaters – often there are Chevy Suburbans/Dodge Minivans in the executive aisle. It’s also generally great for better car choices; vehicles I’ve pulled in the last year include a Range Rover Evoque, Lincoln MKZ, Cadillac XTS and multiple Infiniti SUVs and Dodge Chargers. Also worth noting that while National are typically more expensive, they don’t charge one way drop fees and the class of vehicle you drive is almost always better than what you reserve.
How does it work? Do i need to sign up or it will automatically apply to the rental?
Both One Two Free and the Emerald Club Executive status require signing up. If you aren’t a member of EC already, you can sign up right before registering for One Two Free.
how do you get executive with world elite mastercard? i searched and can’t find that info. have citi wemc.
I thought Chase CSR gives Executive status while Amex Plat gives Executive Elite?
