The Offer
- Available nationwide, Bank of Missouri offers their Kasasa checking account with 3.05% APY on balances up to $15,000.
- Requires 15 debit card purchases each month, requires being enrolled in electronic statements, and requires logging in once per month.
Avoiding Fees
There are no monthly fees, even if you don’t meet the monthly qualifications.
Our Verdict
Would net $457.50 each year if you max out the $15,000. The debit card requirement is a pain, but some people will find it worthwhile.
Hat tip to reader Anthony
Eric How are you meeting the debit card requirement?
Does CashApp/Venmo work for satisfying the 15 debit transactions?
Amazon reloads.
Eric Thanks. Where do you see the 3% APY in the account? I just opened my account today.
nvm, I see it today in my account details.
Time waster, unable to get pass the photo ID step. Any1 experiencing the same?
Yes. I used someone else’s phone and was able to proceed after several failed attempts using my phone.
I just tried to link my Bank of Missouri account to Bank of America to pay my credit card bill and received the below message. I don’t think this has ever happened before and I’ve added many accounts on Bank of America’s site. Have any of you had any issues having a credit card attempt to withdraw funds from your Bank of Missouri Kasasa account?
“We can’t process electronic transactions from this financial institution. Check with Bank of America if you’re not sure which accounts you can use with Bill Pay.”
Just in case anyone experiences this same thing in the future, I have an update. Although I was unable to add my Bank of Missouri account to Bank of America, I was able to add to my USB credit card account. The payment was withdrawn by USB with no issue.
I already did 15 debit card transactions this month (few days back and all settled now), however, my account still shows 0.25% interest. I used Venmo for transactions. Is it normal or do Venmo transactions not work?
I’m not sure if that really means anything. I just logged into my account and it shows 3.0082% and I have not met the requirements yet for this statement.
This is my 1st full statement so it’s possible that it just shows the interest rate that was earned on the previous statement.
Is this your 1st statement?
Eric This is my second statement period.
I just logged into my account. Now the rate shows as .25%. I still haven’t met the requirements for this statement. It would nice if they all had a progress meter like Evansville and LMCU do. Did you notice what the rate showed as during your 1st statement?
Eric It showed 3.05% during the first statement period. Thats the reason I am worried.
Can anyone confirm if cash app works to meet the requirements?
I was going to ask the same thing
JesC, Jesse Holt Did Cash app work for you?
newguy I never ended up signing up. Went with Evansville Teacher FCU instead which cash app does work for
Chuck,
Bank of Missouri did not pull my Chex when I opened my account in May.
I just noticed that I only have a $500 transfer limit per day. For any of you that have had the account for a while, does that transfer limit increase at some point? If so, when and to how much?
I just applied for this account and it appears that I was approved. Plaid didn’t work for the opening funding so I needed to use micro-deposits. I need to wait for those to post to my external account to finalize the account opening.
It was a huge hassle to apply due to the system being very sensitive on the document upload screen.
As I mentioned before, I was told by a rep that the requirements are waived for the 1st statement. I was told that the statements end on the 2nd Wednesday of every month so my 1st period will not be long at all.
Chuck,
You spelled “Missouri” wrong in the title and the URL. That’s why it didn’t show up near the top of the search results when I searched for the post.
Fixed, thank you
Amazon reloads aren’t working for me…
What do you mean by that? As in you cant charge the card or you arent earning interest from using them as the purchase requirement?
Sorry I should have been more clear. I meant the latter – that I’m not earning interest from using them to meet the debit requirements.
Interesting i would complain to customer service about that…
Any other dps on this from anyone else?
I’m using amazon as well for the requirements and i’m wondering about this lol….
Yo my statement hit and my amazon reloads worked for meeting the requirements…..
