- Five debit card transactions or
- One recurring Direct Deposit
Early Account Termination Fee
Bonus forfeit if closed within 180 days of account opening
Our Verdict
HomeTrust has had bigger bonuses in the past. This one doesn’t require a direct deposit, but the debit card requirements are still a lot for such a small bonus. We won’t be adding this to our best bank bonus page.

William Charles Chuck is HomeTrust offer is available ($400 across 3 different “activities”) – found here https://hs.htb.com/upto400
Called in, CSR said $500 in all, not per transaction. Love their 10 debit transactions to get $5 and keep it fee free. 10 .50¢ AGC reloads work
>Make at least 15 debit card purchases equal to or greater than $500 per statement cycle for two statement cycles within the first three statement cycles
so 15*$500*2 = $15k+ complicated spend for $100 return. even if the very obvious way of MSing this works, this is an awful offer.
Nah, I think they mean for a total of $500 each statement period, but the wording is ambiguous
I read that as “at least 15 debit card purchases equal to or greater than $500” combined
The way they phrased it is quite vague, could be interpreted either way I think. Should probably confirm in writing that it’s $500 total per statement before doing it, in case you go the CFPB route
That’s a crazy worst case scenario math but I didn’t interpret it like that. I got $500 each for two months.
