New Chase Preapproved Offer Method To Bypass 5/24 (“You’re Already Approved”)

Update 9/8/19: reader Swany got this now on a few cards, image below. (Note: this ‘already approved’ offer probably does not take care of the 48-month rule, so if you already have/had a Sapphire card, you likely won’t get the bonus.)

So there are 3 potential offers you’ll see in the Offers For You:

  • “Already Approved” green tag with stated credit lines and fixed APR, no income entry required during application; this should bypass 5/24 and should always be approved.
  • “You’re pre-qualified” black tag with fixed APR, no stated credit line, asks for income during application; this should bypass 5/24 making you eligible for approval.
  • “Special Offer” with no set APR or credit line; this kind will not bypass 5/24.

(We originally wrote here that the ‘already approved’ offer has a variable APR, but reader Swany clarified that it was the ‘Special Offer’ that had no fixed APR while the ‘already approved’ offer did have a fixed APR.)

Original Post:

Reader Major sent in a tip that there’s a new kind of Just For You offer which essentially shows a preapproval offer and it worked for them to bypass 5/24. It shows in the position where we usually have JUST FOR YOU offers, but the title is different and states: “(your name), you have already be approved for a Chase Sapphire Preferred with ($xx) credit limit.” Here’s what it looks like:

Let us know if you see this and if it works for you to bypass 5/24. For more background on 5/24 and Just For You offers, check out these posts:

Actually I have the 4th kind of offers: “You are preapproved”. I have such offers on all Ink Business card.

On the other hand, I have “You are already approved” offers on personal cards such as United explorer and Freedom cards.

Does anyone know if “preaaproved” is the same as “already approved”?

Has anyone ever got an “already approved” offer on an Ink Business card?

I received an email from Chase stating that I was already approved for some offers. I applied for one of the offers as this was my first time seeing “already approved” under “just for you.” It did not give me a decision right away. It stated they needed to review more information. I have a fraud alert on my accounts at the credit bureau so, I believe that’s why it stated that. It asked for my income and it verified my phone number and that’s it. It was a hard pull. I received an email minutes later stating that they will give me a decision in 30 days, but in the app in stated that if I was approved, I will receive my card in 7 to 10 days. So, I was optimistic, but realistic. They called me the next day and verified my phone number and viola, I was approved. They had to have bypass the 5/24 rule because, I fall in that category. So, if you see “already approved” under offers, apply and see what happens.
Stay safe and well!

I got a hard inquiry today for the “you’re already approved” offer. these offers seem a scam. I was on the call with the credit department and they said we do not have such things and we do hard inquiries for every credit card application.

What if you show up as ‘preapproved’ for a card on a banker’s screen in a branch ? Does that mean you can by[pass 05/24 ?

Got two prequalified biz cc offers with fixed APR, after paying down my CL utilization and staying well below 5/24. Applied for one which went pending 7-10 days, then got denied twice on the second card, since both offers still remained on Just For You. Called Reconsideration and got the first one approved manually. Strangely the approver could see my two denied apps were for a different type of card, but the biz lending specialist I got transferred to insisted that all three of my apps were using the same promo code for the same “type” of card, so the latter two for the second card were considered duplicates and cannot be processed. I’m wondering if the card offers were supposed to disappear after the first card app, but didn’t due to browsing caching, based on the biz lending specialist’s description, or would there be a way around that to get the second/different type of card approved.

I submitted the two apps for the second biz CC, once from my personal Chase online profile, and once from my biz Chase online profile. I still see the two offers after logging out and logging in from a new browser.

are you able to get approved for both if there are multiple cards showing up with prequalified?

So i recently applied for the chase business preferred card and was denied.
I knew i had 4 credit cards opened in the last 2 years but apparently i also had a 5th one opened which was papal credit almost 2 years ago. Here is the kicker. I have opened 2 chase business cards this year already. the first 4 i knew I had opened all prior to this year. So i was at 5/24 this whole year and they still gave me 2 chase business cards. I’m so pissed that paypal thing is counted. Also i called the reconsideration line and nope they wont budge because of the 5 in the past 2 years.

I have nothing preapproved under “just for you.”
But under credit cards there are multiple that say “Learn More” but the Southwest, which I have never had, says “see your offer.” I see no one has mentioned the exact text “See your offer.” Is it something new? Will this bypass 5/24?

What you’re describing isn’t any kind of special offer and has no benefit to you more than a random person applying via the website That’s more of a marketing offer.

You have to have a fixed APR in the terms and conditions pages for the relevant offer for it to mean anything regarding approval. That’s the rule as far as I’ve seen/read. They also seem to only ask for Income (pre-approved) or only Phone # (already approved).

My understanding is “Already approved” with a stated credit line is basically guaranteed and bypasses 5/24. It will not pass 48 month sign-up bonus restriction based on the language in my offers which includes the 48 month language.

Has anyone been able to see these without having another Chase Card? If you sign up for the free credit report do the preapproved cards show up as an option?
