New Coin Deal This Thursday ($3,000 In Spend + Profit)

Update 9/23/20: Price is officially $3,000.

This Thursday the US Mint will be launching a new limited edition Palladium coin. The deal will sell for approximately $3,000 (final price will be set tomorrow) and there is also a $4.95 shipping charge and limit of one coin per household. Some coin resellers are offering to purchase the coin for the final price + an additional bonus (this varies from coin resellers). My recommendation is to always lock in a price with somebody trustworthy before the coin goes on sale so that you’re not carrying any risk and then honor your side of the deal if the coin goes up in price after the deal goes live/sells out. You can use a credit card to purchase this coin, so it’s some nice free spend to meet minimum spend requirements/other bonuses and also some profit.

The Mint is taking forever to process refunds. They told me to expect 3 weeks from the day they received it back.

I’ll never do another PFS Deal again since they left me high and dry due to the package getting damaged in transit. They told me to return it to the Mint and I’ve been waiting 25 days and still haven’t gotten my refund from the Mint. PFS takes next to no risk in this deals and sticks you with all of it. I understand why people hate them.

Was the package damaged in shipment from the Mint to you, or from you to PFS? That would seem to be a major distinction.

Just received a $6,510 check from Minshull for my two coins. Smooth transaction. Happy camper.

Got paid yesterday. Another smooth transaction with PFS. (but good news for those who bought the coin and didn’t make the deal with PFS; ebay shows the coin going for $3500+)

With ebay/paypal fees, shipping & insurance $3500 is barely break even.

The most recent eBay sales are around $3,000……not good.

Paid with my Fidelity Rewards and just received my statement and I received no points for the coin purchase. I am going to have to call Fidelity.

DP: Fidelity confirmed that purchases at US MInt don’t qualify for Fidelity 2x reward points. Oh well, lesson learned. Transaction otherwise was good. Received $3055 from PFS via paypal fast. Wish would have earned points on this though.

Do Chase cards earn points with US Mint? I’ve read Amex has issues.

Yes, the purchase on my Chase Freedom Unlimited paid out 4,507 Ultimate Rewards for the $3,005 purchase (1.5%).

Arley Hi, where did you read about amex having issues? Seems Amex would be classifying these as CA starting next year but should still go thru fine til the end of this year?

I didn’t use an Amex the last Mint deal. I used a Fidelity. But yes, I sure won’t be using an Amex nor a Fidelity on Mint.

My statement from US Bank just came and it also didn’t get any points on the purchase. This was the Radisson card if that makes any difference.

Just received payment of $3,055 in my Paypal. I followed all directions and had 0 issues. Still not sure why people are complaining about working with PFS. Never had one issue working with them since I follow their directions closely. Looking forward to working with them again!

Same. I think people mostly gripe that they can get more value out of re-selling themselves, but that is not a valid point. Following all directions and having PFS take the risk is worth it to me. Never do I have the worry that I “wont get paid” by them.

I requested my payout on the 5th and got it on the 9th. You’ll get it, just give it another couple of days.

Shipped mine out Monday, since I didn’t receive until late Thursday PM after our local FedEx closed. Was scheduled for delivery Wednesday by 4:30p EST. Still not delivered, with Scheduled Delivery: Pending and no scheduled delivery date available at this time. Let’s see if I can turn this into a worst case scenario!

For anyone concerned with future deals and your coin(s) getting lost in the mail. My coin ended up getting lost by FedEx. It made it to NYC area, but not to the final destination. Scheduled to arrive last Wednesday, 10/7, and it is still not resolved, but I’ve already been paid out the entire $3,055. PFS said they will take care of the insurance claim on their end.

Has anyone cashed out via the e-check option? If so, how does that work? Is it an ACH to the bank account of your choice or is it an actual emailed check that’s mobile deposited or printed? How long does it take to clear? Thanks.

I did the eCheck for the last offer. It was an actual check emailed to me, which I printed out and mobile deposited. Same time frame as a regular check, maybe a day or two.
