We used to see Hotels.com giftcards on sale for 10%+, but that’s no longer the case.
Hotels.com gift card deals are getting worse and worse. 8% now? It used to be 15-20%.
These discounts get smaller and smaller while inflation keeps going up.
These discounts just keep getting worse with time.

This is a good deal but I honestly have a problem finding a good use for these cards. Even though I travel plenty of places without chain hotels, I find that about 75% of the hotels are cheaper booking directly with them and/or have other advantages booking direct with them (more choices of rooms, more flexible refund policy, etc). Always check the rates with the hotel website directly before booking with hotels.com.
+1. Same here, most international hotel locations want you to pay at the hotel and not through the hotels.com website. I eventually sold all my hotels.com gift cards on ebay. From my experience, hotels.com is usually more expensive than booking.com. Also, booking.com has more targeted promotions.
