I would recommend buying the permanent license version that is regularly on sale for like $50 if you don’t need the service aspects (like drive). I think it’s 2021 professional?
Ads all the time on like kotaku for it.

It is usually available at stacksocial.com. It is a legitimate Microsoft license which can be added to your Microsoft account. It was recently on sale of $29.99, the current price is $49.99 – still a good value.

LibreOffice costs $0 and is free (as in freedom). No license or account necessary. https://www.libreoffice.org/

There’s always somebody spouting libreoffice and open source stuff. We heard about LibreOffice and we don’t want it. I’d use a boot legged version of MS Office before I touch LibreOffice. Get it?

If we already have a Family subscription directly from the Microsoft website will this extend the expiration? Also, same question with Nord as current subscription expires next year.

Yes, up to 5yr max for MS. And yes with Nord it will extend subscription.

Mike yes, but it also depends where you bought the subscription from. If you buy from Newegg.. yes you can stack years. If you buy one Microsoft subscription from Amazon and another from NewEgg they can’t stack together.
