Avoiding Fees

- Or maintain a direct deposit of $1,500+
There is also an early account termination fee of $20 if the account is closed within 180 days. A $5 fee if the account is closed by mail and other fees (see more here).
Our Verdict
Nice large $300 bonus, direct deposit is required and there is a monthly fee to worry about but not too difficult to waive that. As it’s in branch opening only you should be able to find out if it’s a soft pull or not, if it is it’ll definitely be one of the best checking account bonuses available. They have also offered the same bonus before but at different branches.

I signed up in-branch in March for the previous $300 bonus. I transferred $3K from PayPal and that satisfied the DD requirement for the bonus as it posted this month.
Also, make sure to use your debit card at least 1 time. Even though it’s not in the terms of the offer I was told that I needed to do that when I asked to confirm I met all of the requirements last month.
@Josh Click, is it hard pull or soft pull? thanks
At the Jake Brown branch they did not let me do initial fund with CC. Tried on 6/24
I believe they also allow a ridiculous amount of credit card funding, something like 2,500 for the checking and possibly another 2,500 for savings.
Happy to hear it. Any word on if it posts as a CA?
Also hard/soft pull?
