The Offer
- Sunward is offering a $225 bonus when you open a new checking account and complete the following requirements:
- Open a Quick Cash or Money Manager Checking account and complete at least one qualifying debit transaction (point of sale, check, bill pay, ACH debit, ATM transaction) on the checking account within 90 days of account opening.
- Must make an aggregate of $500 or more in qualifying deposits for two consecutive months into a checking or savings account within the first 90 days of account opening.
The Fine Print
- Qualifying Deposits: cash, checks, ACH direct deposits (payroll, pension or government benefits), and P2P transfers.
- Non-Qualifying Deposits: dividends, merchant POS returns, ledger corrections, and internal transfers.
- All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them
Avoiding Fees
Monthly Fees
Money manager has no monthly fees to worry about.
Early Account Termination Fee
I wasn’t able to find any mention of any EATF in the fee schedule.

Got 225 this monthb
Are you in any of the mentioned states??
In Texas yes
DP for being approved OOS (not NM, CA, AZ, TX, or CO)
4/2 – applied around 9pm
4/3 – got email saying accounts are opened and registered for online banking
probably just gonna write a check for myself twice, seems like a really easy bonus
should i contact them if i haven’t gotten anything?
i did a transfer with venmo, i should’ve tried other options
Did you do your deposits exactly the same way for 2 consecutive months? If not, maybe only one of them counted.
If you’re still within 90 days of opening, try repeating exactly what you did last month. Can’t hurt to try! If it works you’ll see the bonus on 5/1 or 5/2.
i did them both with venmo one I did like $502 and the other 500 but it was basically the same yeah
Contact them. Venmo transfer whether ACH or P2P in their system should work per the terms
i’ve been told they’re reviewing my account to see if i’m eligible so i will let you know

I deposited checks to meet the bonus requirement and messaged Sunward to ask when the bonus will be issued. Sunward claims I haven’t met the terms because I haven’t received direct deposits, but their bonus page states checks count as qualifying deposits.
I’d ignore them and just wait for it to pay out
The terms are pretty clear. Save a copy too for good measure
I have a referral code: V9C2K and can be emailed at @ [email protected] if you have any questions. I did the referral last year and did receive a bonus.
