The Offer

Direct link to offer (page 22)

  • Office Depot/Max is offering an instant discount of $20 when you purchase $100 or more in the following gift cards in store (public resale rates in brackets):
    • GameStop (83%)
    • Michael’s (67%)
    • Ruby Tuesday (72%)
    • Domino’s (75%)
    • Catherine’s (72.5%)
    • GAP/Banana Republic/Old Navy/etc (70.5%)
    • Olive Garden/Longhorn Steakhouse/etc (69%)
    • Chilli’s/Maggiano’s/On The Order (72.5%)

The Fine Print

  • Limit of 1 discount offer per transaction
  • Valid in store only
  • Offer valid 11/26-/12/109

Our Verdict

Can be stacked with the American Express sync offer, otherwise use a credit card that earns 5%/5x at office supply stores. GameStop is profitable for resale, but I don’t expect that to last with this deal being available.

this was working for me as late as friday of last week. Went to an office max today and the deal seems to be dead now

I just went to an Office Max after work and they informed me that corporate told them to pull all the gift cards off the shelves. So, is the deal dead? Office Max seems to pull this stunt all the time. I an going to stop at another one to confirm. If you are able to buy the gift cards, you should go asap.

Same-I actually “found” a gamestop gift card and the staff member said they had orders not to sell any more

Wife and I tried to take advantage of this tonight with two SPG business cards that had the $10 off $50. Got to the pay part and cashier says they don’t do split payments with two credit cards. I don’t frequent the office supply stores much for my MS/stacking deals, but it seems very unusual for a merchant to not accept split payments. Only thing I can think of is if this place gets nailed with MSers or AMEX offer folks.

You can split payments in OD.

He is wrong. I do that all the times. To get my amex offer, I splitted my payments for vis a giftcards, paid with 4 amex cards.

Splitting is pointless since the total is $80 which would only be good for 1 AO anyways.

Got 4 Gamestop gift cards so for with Chase Ink. You can buy Amazon gift cards at gamestop with a gamestop gift card. Just did so today.

Running around and saw this deal posted. Best easy to maximize two Amex Offers ($10 off $50) with this promo?

If you have office depot gift cards, can you use those to purchase these 3rd party gift cards?

Does OfficeMax/OfficeDepot still sell Visa/MC gift cards? Have 15 of the $10 off $50 offers on my cards, but only going to be near one today (they’re not close to my house) and would have stocked up on some gift cards but it doesn’t start till Sunday.

Yes, they still sell Meta VISA GC’s. They have 5 backs and the “Anywhere” cards, all of which use last 4 of account # as debit PIN.

I’d expect they do, just about any store that sells other stores’ gift cards has Visa/MC cards too. These gift card displays are provided to stores as a ‘package deal’ by third-party companies that specialize in gift card merchandising.

Forget resale, this seems like the only way to get an Xbox One X for a discount this holiday season.

Can we still use Gamestop gift cards to buy Amazon gift cards?

That’s surprising. In the old days I used to use discounted GameStop gift cards to buy gas gift cards, but they stopped accepting them. It was hard wired into their system.

Gamestop –> Amazon was always my preferred route, but I went to my local GS location yesterday and it was hard coded. Sad days indeed.

Hard coded to not accept GS GC for AZ GC? What amount of AZ were you trying to get? Was the GS GC a physical GS GC or eGC?

$100 AZ variable load. I had two $50 GS GCs.
