Avoiding Fees
When you’re KEMBA advantage member the hassle free account has no monthly fees, unsure if there is any early account termination fee as I was unable to find the fee schdule
Our Verdict
Keep in mind that this says it’s for KEMBA members who do not currently have a KEMBA checking account and also that coupons are non-transferable, this leads me to believe this is supposed to be targeted. YMMV if it’s enforced, it seems like signing up requires calling in anyway. If it’s a soft pull and not targeted then it seems like a good deal. As always share your experiences in the comments below.

Tried in branch yesterday. Denied due to Chexsystem. 5 inquiries in the last 6 months. 31 overall, too high for them.
BTW DoC, I think the headline should be Columbus OH area only, as you can only become a member if you live, work, worship or attend school in Fairfield Franklin Licking Madison Union Delaware Logan counties.
Where does it say that?
One of the requirements states that “Direct Deposit of your entire payroll, Social Security, or pension check to KEMBA”. I wonder how they would know how much you make to determine if you are depositing the whole check.
It says minimum $1000. So I’d just deposit a random amount like $1010.33 and call it my whole paycheck.
Hi J. Were you able to open the account? Today I echat with Kemba and he
wrote: “The promo was only sent to members that have financed their loan with KEMBA in a dealership. The website page that you see is what people are directed to after they open the link that was sent to their email. Do you have an indirect loan with us? (A loan which was performed by a dealership, but financed through KEMBA) ?”
Before the chat I went to local branch and banker told me basically the same thing.
