FYI this is not churnable. I opened an account online with them in 2021 and closed it in-branch in 2022 (I am local to Michigan). After 24 months I thought I’d be fine to re-open the account but after opening online and being verified, I saw my initial opening transfer never went through. I called and they said Premier Bank has closed my account for no reason. The website still shows my account as active and not closed so I’m not sure what’s going on there. My online log in is separate from the one back in 2021.
Extended through 12/31/24.
Thought I’d try OOS but it’s not possible online; the application restricts via ZIP (“please enter a valid ZIP code) and state (“Allowed states are Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Pennsylvania”) when entering residential address.
Not sure if anyone has posted duet, but this was extended through 9/30/24
Not churnable. I attempted. “Customers who received a past incentive on a Checking Account are not eligible.”
I am attempting to churn. P2’s first try and their bonus posted. I reached out to CS when mine did not post (real DD, met criteria) on the same timeline and they told me to wait for up to 60 days after the first 60 day criteria. The terms did not have the language of ‘customers who received before…’ We’ll see. I left like $20 there, so not the end of the world if it does not work.
Do you have the original fine print for the offer? Could I bother you for a screenshot? I remember it not mentioning this in the original offer looks like they added this. I want to include this original fine print with my CFPB complaint.
Shoot – I am not sure that I do. It is possible it is in a stack of papers at home, but I did not keep an electronic copy. I’ll post if I find it.
Does premier send you a debit card in the mail? I can’t get a hold of anyone at premier and I don’t know how to do debit transactions with only having the account number. Any advise here? Thank You! I would just like to complete these 20 debit transactions.
I opened my account in May and the debit card took about a month to arrive. I did send a secured message earlier this month asking about it and was told that I would need to go to a branch. Card/pin mailers arrived about a week after the message, so not sure if they ended up pushing the card through.
P2:
4/22/24 – $50 opening deposit
4/26 – $1005 real DD (from P1’s check)
5/16-17 – 20 x $1 Amazon reloads (back when we could do $1)
6/13 – $200 Credit Memo
P1: Same timeline +/- 2-3 days, but did the bonus back in 2022 and nothing has posted yet. I will give it a little longer and reach out.
Any update on your P1?
For my P2:
4/11/24: Opened
4/26/24: Real $1,000 direct deposit
5/7/24: 20th debit card purchase made
As of 6/25/24: No bonus yet. Per the terms, they have another week or 2, but I am a bit surprised it hasn’t as other data points have indicated the bonus pays out much sooner than that.

I just heard back yesterday after several back and forth messages:
Hello
For the promotion as mentioned above you will need 60 days to complete the requirements, which are direct deposits equaling $1,000 and 20 debit card transactions within those 60days. Once the requirements are met after 120 days you would receive the $200 promo.
I checked your account and from what I see you have met the requirements at this time we are just waiting for the system to pay it out on or after the 120 days.
I hope this clears up any confusion.

So P1 will wait, even though P2 started the process a day or two after P1. I’ve pretty much emptied the account, so no big deal to wait, but I am fully expecting this will not be the end of this one and there will be more messages to come.
Final update. After several back and forth messages, the bonus posted for P1. P1 churned it after greater than 12 months, so this was the second bonus for P1, and P2 also received it, so they did not apply the ‘one per household limit’ that they used to have on there. Cheers!
William Charles – There is now a paper statement fee of $3 that you have to opt out of. To waive it: Accounts > Statements & Documents > Subscription Settings . Click the TINY gear on the Right. > Online Statements > Sign up for electronic statements.
JFC, this is another nightmare bank. P1 denied; no one could tell her why. P2 approved – same address, same Chex store, same everything. P2 sends payroll deposit on 5/3 and it shows pending. Today, 5/8, it’s gone. POOF! Premier has no idea what happened to the money. Department that MIGHT have an answer? Oh they left for the day. Cool. They already earned a spot on worst banks I’ve dealth with alongside Truist and TD.
Bank has frozen my funds and refuses to return them. Why? “Suspected fraud” purely as a result of me being located “out of footprint.” They said they don’t typically permit customers who are “out of footprint” from having accounts – although they have no automated system in place to prevent it nor do their terms state anything of the sort. Now I have to pursue this with the CFPB/FDIC.
How was this resolved?
Update?
Denied in branch and online due to Chex.
I was told to visit again in 6-8 months
