Are we doing a referral link page for this one? Or if not does someone want to drop one?

Tried Maryland zip codes for Baltimore, Gaithersburg, and Westminster. All of them were outside their coverage area and would not allow me to continue with the application.

It’s a select area in Maryland (Cumberland Narrows community).

I discussed that over here: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/oh-va-pa-only-dollar-bank-400-checking-bonus/#comment-1938100

Did we ever establish whether “within 2 months of the 1-year anniversary” means two months before or after that anniversary? Gadget?

We most certainly did establish it, and no, there was not a 2 month grace period. The 2nd bonus pays out in the 13th month.

I got mine & P2’s $100 1-2 weeks after the one-year anniversary date. For example, open 11/28/18, $100 bonus 12/12/19.

Great, thanks. Digging through these comments to find the definitive answer was getting tiresome.

This one was way more painful to open than most, but that’s probably because I’m so used to banks that allow accounts to be opened so easily. This definitely had a hometown bank feel to it. I hated the snail mail and the waiting, but I made my first debit card purchases this week and they were rebated, so everything went as it was supposed to. $200 here I come.

Now I just need to decide what method I should use to make the 6 transactions each month to keep this thing fee-free. After all that work, I’m definitely sticking around for the extra $100.
Any suggestions?

DP, re: $5 monthly fee on Everything Checking:

1) I had what I thought were six qualifying transactions during this statement period (five BB/Serve withdrawals and one ACH credit from another account), but I was charged the fee anyway. I’m assuming that the ACH credit didn’t count, but I dunno.

2) I left the account with $0.01 at the end of the statement period, and that’s all I was charged as a fee, so it seems that if you have less than $5 in the account when the fee hits, it just takes what you have.
