Applied OOS (NC). “Unfortunately we don’t offer this product in your state.”
Seems like a shady bank…
Opened for me and P2 on 4/21/22
pushed $100 from Alliant and Chase, both purported to work for DD, on 4/26/22 and 5/6/22
Mobil deposit on 6/2/22
Debit transactions (amazon reloads) on 6/2/22
Bill pay (CC payment ) on 6/2/22
PeoplePay on 6/8/22
1x$50 bonus deposited on 6/15
No other bonus…had to contact them, and then they still didn’t deposit the missing $200, only $150.
So either Alliant and Chase pushes don’t actually work, or they’re just a shady bank refusing to honor the full terms of the promotion.
This happened with BOTH accounts, too.
I’m not gonna CFPB over $100, but won’t bother with this bank in the future
On this website under “List of Methods Banks Count as Direct Deposits”, Premier Bank (OH) has no data points. But this comment thread is chock full of them. Can we get some data points put to use in that list, please, mods? 🙂
knuds1b DoC only lists the bank/brokerage/CU as a DP when someone uses just one form of DD. It would be too confusing to list multiple banks and try to say maybe only one of five is working. The DP’s I see are all fuzzy… i.e. used more than one source and prayed, or like me, used a fake, then used real, just in case.
Found a $200 version of this bonus. Expires on September 30th William Charles Chuck

People Pay says that if recipient’s routing and account number is given, a DD is made a few days later. Is that listed in the DD database as recognized by many recipient banks?
Several banks use the People Pay service. You can try it as a Direct Deposit, but it will likely show up as P2P and will only work as a Direct Deposit for the most lenient banks. Also, the transaction limit is somewhat low at $500, and the daily limit is $1,000, at Premier anyway. No mention of monthly limits, but I am thinking it would raise flags if you hit the limits multiple times.
I used it last summer to send to Capital One 360, and appeared as a Deposit from PREMIER BANK PEO PEOPLE PAY FIRSTINITIAL LASTNAME (of the sender). I was not trying to trigger a bonus though.
Thank you. I appreciate the answer. I may try at some banks where I can see if it was counted, but won’t use it for pursuing a bonus.
Denied in PA – live probably 20 mins from a branch. Can’t imagine I’m even close to lol/24 when it comes to Chex – maybe < 10 or so. Didn't even get to identity verification.
Apply in branch… I had no issues, from VA.

I average about 1-2 Chex inquiries per month, at that time anyway.
how can i add code? thank you every one! {(Promo code is Smile (must use the proper capitalization)}
They have changed their website. You used to have to enter the code to start the application. Looks to me like they got rid of the requirement to enter a code.
As you go through the application, I would look for a promo code block, but if it’s not there, you should at least take screenshots. And, if that doesn’t work for you, ie not comfortable, go to a branch to open, or call them and ask.
thanks
Anyone receive a 1099??
No. Nothing was received via mail. I just changed the tax form to electronic in online banking and tried to view:
“There are currently no documents available to view online for the selected date range.”
Thanks that’s helpful. seems likes its like PNC, when there debit card usage no 1099.
Successfully opened account for P2 after being denied last year. For those that may have been denied in the past maybe give it a shot again? This time around the security questions seemed a bit easier.
instant denial. in Ohio
I opened mine in branch in Ohio (Toledo) without issue. I usually open 10-15 accounts/year.
I was told to call in. The strange thing was one of the security questions asking me which street was the closest. I had to look them up, the closest was nowhere near my neighborhood.
