Our Verdict
Seems like most recent datapoints say it’s a hard pull. Should still be worth doing for a lot of readers as hard pulls aren’t as important anymore with all the restrictions on churning credit card bonuses. We will add this to our list of the best bank account bonuses.

Did your bonus post yet? If so, how long after account opening?
Did you receive the bonus tracker email that
H.P. described to me in the comment below? If so, when?

Not yet. I expect, based on the”Bonus paid to Primary Savings within 90 days of requirements being met” term, that I should be credited some time mid-July.
Did you receive the tracker email that
H.P. mentioned? I did not.
I did not receive an email like the one H.P. mentioned. Account was opened Mar 6, and I completed requirements Apr 23. I figure I’ll wait the 90 days before I inquire.
I’m a little behind you but hopefully you have a good outcome.
What ended up happening with your bonus?
I had to request reconsideration after I first inquired and was informed I hadn’t met the eligibility requirements because I was not enrolled in eStatements. Although possibly true, I provided an email indicating that I was enrolled and mentioned that I never received a paper statement in the mail. Within a couple of days the bonus was awarded.
I had to follow up by SM 3 or 4 times but they finally posted the bonus to my Savings account a few minutes ago. 😀
Are you going to keep the account open since the terms imply that it’s once per lifetime?
Did you end up closing your account or did you keep it open due to the once per lifetime terms (or some other reason)?
I don’t have any reason to keep the account open. Will likely close soon.

looks to be reopened, but requires in person account opening in OK
Did you immediately withdraw the DD funds by pulling them using your external account, did you use the funds for BP or did you do something else?
I’m just trying to gauge how sensitive that they are on a scale from BMO (not sensitive at all) to Ameris (very sensitive).
This is an interesting and scary tidbit: “The limits apply whether the transfer was initiated from ComFed or from an external bank.” Can you direct me to where it shows that so I can see for myself? Do you know if BP is included in those limits?
I don’t know what you meant by “BP”.
Yes, that most likely means initiated from CFCU’s website. It is extremely rare for FI to limit transfers initiated from an external account. I might move some of the money out and do some BP, which stands for “bill pay”.
BTW, are you subscribed to receive comments by email in this post? If so, we won’t need to tag each other in the future.
@Eric No, I’m not subscribed to this or any other DoC threads.
Any other ideas for the $10+ debit transactions besides normal spend, Amazon reloads and paying bills?
I will likely make multiple transactions towards paying an insurance bill. However, I have found with at least one other bank in the past, I was able to use Cash app reloads to meet the multiple $5+ debit card transactions required to receive a higher APY.
I wouldn’t recommend risking this bonus with Cash App. What do you plan to use for the DD?
Real DD.
I was never asked to fund my accounts or pay the $10 fee for the Cornerstone Foundation. Were either of you?
I am wondering if they simply will remove $10 if/when I move money into the account. Any idea?
I also was never presented with the option of funding my account. These are the options I was given for funding:
• Download the CFCU Mobile App and use Remote Deposit
• Make a Transfer from another bank account through Online Banking or the CFCU Mobile App
• Call 405.879.5937 to funding[sic] by using a debit/credit card or bank account
• Visit a Communication Federal Credit Union branch near you
How did you find out that joining OOS was possible?
I saw this comment from
Mrs. Gee and then confirmed it for myself by checking their site.

In the “Welcome” email that I received today, it showed “Our records show you did not request a Visa Debit Card when you opened your account. If you would like to request a debit card, please send us a Secure Message through digital banking or call 800.522.3535.”
I checked my print screens and I definitely did select a debit card. I just sent them a SM about this. Did your “Welcome” email also have this erroneous line? I wonder if this is the opposite of what happened with NASA.
It turns out that this is related to my funding question above. I was told that once the accounts are funded, the debit card gets ordered.
I was informed of the same when I inquired about being sent a debit card, that I needed to fund the account first.
They told me that I could fund by credit card but after I called in to do that they told me that it failed so I just did a mobile deposit.
Not able to be verified online. Rep said I need to go to branch, bummer, 4 hr round trip
Anyone opened this account yet? Applied 12/7, message saying banker will contact me and nothing yet. Will be calling Monday or Tuesday
suggestions for the 30 $10 card purchases? think we could just do amazon reloads of $10?
Any ideas on for the DD requirement? Did not see any DPs yet.
Did you end up doing the bonus in this expired post? If so, what did you use for your DD and did you end up receiving the bonus?
I was traveling overseas and I never had a chance to do this offer.
