Avoiding Fees
Monthly Fees
When Interest Checking average monthly balance falls below $500, a $7 monthly service fee applies
Early Account Termination Fee
I wasn’t able to find a fee schedule so unsure if any EATF is charged.
Our Verdict
Not as good of an offer as the $300 bonus, but this is available at significantly more branches making it easier to open. Requirements are easy to meet so we will be adding this to our list of the best bank account bonuses.

There is a referral bonus of $50. does anyone have an account who can refer me? https://www.onpointcu.com/rates-rewards/refer-a-friend/
Is this deal still active?
Went in branch in Tualatin today. Got the $100 bonus deal; they also have a $55 dollar bonus deal for opening a savings account for children, so opened that as well (5% interest up to $500 balance). Downside was credit card funding… banker told me it would run as a cash advance, but I thought I’d try my luck with a small amount anyway… sure enough, it posted as a cash advance to CSR.
Also, I did the $300 bonus with onpoint in 2020, closed account in early 2021, and banker didn’t say anything about this disqualifying me for the current bonus. I’ll post again when I officially receive the bonus, but this seemed to answer the questions of if this is churnable.
Existing members can get $100 for applying for, and then spending $1000, on their 2% credit card. We just did. Available for us at a regular OnPoint office. Not sure if it is also available at FM but I would speculate it is because it is available for existing members. Maybe new members can do both!

Are there any confirmed datapoints for what counts as DD? I did a similar promo with OnPoint last year but because I had a real DD last year but this year I don’t (unemployed.. no unemployment) :(. Does anyone have any ideas or know of a confirmed datapoint?
Anyone have success opening at other OnPoint locations besides Salmon Creek? I might drive up to Salmon Creek from Portland due to the positive datapoint, but just wondering if any branches in Portland that were friendly to people who previously had accounts too with this bonus
@William Charles it appears the T&C have been updated specifically the last line which reads “The Fred Meyer business bonus is not available to existing members.” When this offer was first posted there was no verbiage excluding existing members, you only had to open a new membership relationship and accounts.
Interesting, thanks
Every Sperm is Sacred pdxsymbol Amy Grant Opened at the Salmon Creek Branch. They had no problem opening even though I had accounts in the past. Was able to open business and personal membership at the same time. Received a swag bag with a tumbler and water bottle. Very nice people.
Daedalus You’re able to get both bonuses?
Btw, what’s your Chex like?
There’s no branch at the Fred Meyer in WA that I visited. In fact, there’s no branch in WA according to their website.
Salmon Creek branch is open now: 800 NE Tenney Rd.
Vancouver, WA 98685. Other locations in WA opening soon.
2 other Vancouver, WA branches opening soon but nothing north of Vancouver it appears.
