Starting in 2023, the single-origin Colombian dark roast will be replaced with a Central American blend that will be pre-ground instead of whole bean. Per reddit, Panera stores are being given instructions for how to dispose of their coffee grinders once they deplete their stock of whole-bean.
For the minority of people who are paying actual money for Panera coffee and actually drinking the dark roast and can distinguish the taste between freshly ground vs. pre-ground and between different roasts and different beans, this represents a notable devaluation of the coffee subscription for you.
Just tried this from my phone, and was successful. Clicked the link, was prompted to sign into Amex account online, and I think had to click through one more time. Let me create a new Panera account and successfully signed me up for 4 month trial.
New Panera accounts seem to give you a free bakery item too, so that is the best way to keep milking the free trial offers, don’t bother with re-subscribing existing accounts, it can only cause problems with being charged from day 1.
Doesn’t the free bakery item promo require a purchase though? Still not a bad offer.
Also, is anyone else getting significantly smaller cups at their local Panera? The cups they’re giving out now are easily half the size of the cups they gave out before. My local Panera has informed me that the change in the cup size is permanent and that the larger cups will no longer be given out. I realize that inflation has something to do with this, but was it really necessary to decrease the cup size by almost half, Panera? The drinks have got to be the cheapest thing they make there.
At least they decided to do away with their awful paper straws, I am in California btw.
The supply chain pricing increases and theft/fraud are still rampant from what I can gather. The lemonade chargers are actually the most expensive self-serve drinks on Panera’s menu, and if enough people take them without ordering or paying then the stores end up eating hefty losses each week. It’s also a horrific situation for inventory tracking, and a lot of the more theft-prone stores have moved drink bubblers behind the counter entirely now, making self-serve impossible for both legitimate customers and thieves.
I am having issues signing up just like other people. It has been showing me errors regarding my credit card or other code messages. I tried both on my computer as with mobile app even changing the credit card still with no success. And it is before the end of Wednesday, October 5 by me so it should work. It’s terrible that they have this promotion and people cannot sign up for it.
You can turn it into 6 mos: through tomorrow they are offering 2 mos free sip club (visit their main page, it pops up). Sign up for that, cancel at the end, then sign up for this 4-month offer before 12/31.
Yep, Just got the free 2 months yesterday. When that expires I will do this AMEX offer on my other Panera account. Winning!
