Existing member. Got the promo code and added it to the account. The terms make it seem like you have to cancel first, but that wasn’t necessary for me on a self-paid account. Kept the $6 ad-free upgrade. Pretty straight forward if you qualify.

At one time Peacock was offering deals like these to normal folk once you try to cancel your first months full price membershio. I wonder if they still do.

I like the ability to upgrade for $6/month to the Peacock Premium Plus which gives you commercial free and the ability to download tv shows and movies to your phone or tablet to watch offline. If I have a big trip, I will upgrade for the month and then fill up my iPad with stuff to watch.

If you need some recommendations, I like watching the Traitors (US, UK, AUS, NZ seasons available).

Assuming you’re not 60 years old and an absolute “I come home to watch The Traitors and New Amsterdam” cable goblin because then you’d already be a lock, Peacock principally attracts:

  • Soccer fans
  • Reality TV
  • Below Deck, Love Island, etc
  • CNBC type stuff
  • I don’t think they have the Shark Tank rights due to Hulu, so wanna watch Marcus Lemonis ruin someone’s life?

I personally think it’s a good service – middle of the pack content (better than Paramount but probably worse than Netflix for instance) but they keep offering it for this low rate. Disclosure I get it for free being married to an employee (nowhere near the Peacock product itself), but if I wasn’t I would be getting it at this discount rate. I would not be getting it retail personally. Married to the company notwithstanding, I’m very curious to see them go through the “everyone is in at $1.99 so how do we convert them to $9.99” curve every streamer ends up going through.

Premier League is a big draw for us. And they have a decent collection of films. Our experience has been one ad at the start of a movie, and that’s it. Can’t really complain since we’re getting it for free.

Yes. I was surprised. But they sent me a 3 free month as a thank you. Yes I did pay the additional 6 dollars to avoid ads to watch the Olympics.
Series on real estate are nice too.
