The Pepper App has sent out an e-mail to users informing them that points will now expire after a period of 60 days of inactivity starting November 15, 2024. If you’ve already made a purchase then there will be a grace period until February 1, 2025 (it’s not clear if this is when points will start expiring or when the 60 day clock will start).
I can understand apps adding expiration policies, but 60 days seems unnecessarily harsh. At the moment it probably doesn’t matter too much as the deals are so good, but if they start drying up this could become a much bigger issue.
Good luck getting them to answer a phone call or email. I gave up.
I can’t seem to make any purchase on the Pepper app. Signed up recently and keep getting the following error when trying to purchase Amazon GC:
“Your bank declined the card for an unknown reason. Please contact your card issuer for more information.”
This is for my AMEX card and I confirmed with AMEX that there’s no issue with my card. Also nothing is showing as pending either.
Does this also work for other family credit cards or it must be under my name? I have tried both and both are declined.
Thanks
Same problem with my Amex being declined at Pepper. Did you find a solution?
Still having this problem.
I solved this buy 1) buying a gift card with a Mastercard and then 2) deleting the amex card and adding it again.
This didn’t work for me
I got a deal on amazon fresh (16x) and I purchased a gift card ($500) from the deal section in the app. However, I only got the base points (40,000) and do not see the bonus points from the purchase or from the ‘Pending Points’ section. The offer also was gone immediately after I purchased it. Is there any way to check if my points were tracked correctly?
I’ve been putting off signing up for pepper but maybe it’s time to sign up. Do bonuses for Amazon still show up somewhat regularly or has that been getting nerfed?
I noticed in the past few weeks that they are less frequent but they still show up and are sold out immediately. I try to refresh the app often and have had luck once. Not a great use of my time but got to get those amazon gift cards for the holiday season lol
What’s the best way to use these points? Is it to buy a new gift card and then use the points as a discount? I haven’t redeemed on pepper yet but yeah, slightly concerning…
Yes, I believe that may be the only way to use it lol
I have purchased a gift card of 500 USD but the balance given was only 250. Unable to get in contact with their customer service with multiple attempts.
when you go into into the order in transaction history, press view gift card, are you able to swipe to see the second gift card? just figured i’d mention since when i purchased $600 in sephora, it split it up into 3 $200 gift cards and i think it’d be easy to overlook. but if they did actually only give you half of what you paid for, tell them you’re going to file a bbb complaint and they’ll prob respond
Oh my you are right. Thanks!
yw! awesome, glad that was it
how do i get notifications of peppers deals from the app… I think i disabled it accidently but i hate logging into it every minute. i have notifications under my iphones app setting enabled
I don’t think this is necessarily a bad sign for them – if they were struggling now I would think they would extend the expiration in hopes that they never get redeemed
They’re banking on the breakage – the customer never being able to redeem the points which they are able to expire out.
Fuck Pepper. Stop posting and advertising their shitty shit.
Has anyone been successful in cancelling a purchase? I purchased Amazon GC when it was x12, but only x4 posted. I reached out to pepper by email, but no response at all.
Did you wait 3 weeks?
Yes, all other purchases showed the initial and extra points, but this one did not. It’s impossible to get a response from their customer service.
Email [email protected] (the parent company who owns Pepper) and they actually respond there. The [email protected] email address never answers. I am also missing a lot of bonus points and asked them to investigate.
