Update 8/20/24: Readers are reporting this deal is back. I can’t seem to find the exact offer in the app so I’m not sure where people are seeing it. I do see in the notifications a recent message (apparently since noon today ET) about a new promo at “Nike, Petsmart, Amazon Fresh, Netflix, and more!” so that might be it, but I’m not seeing the 16x number anywhere.

The Offer
Pepper app is offering the following deals for August 19 – 20:
- Get 16% back on Amazon Fresh gift card purchases.
The standard 4x Pepper points will be instantly available and the bonus Pepper points will be awarded on 9/9/24.
Our Verdict
16% back on Amazon is insane, especially coupled with the other category bonuses (see below). I just purchased a $1 Amazon Fresh gift card from Pepper and was able to apply it to my regular Amazon balance; it all combines together. Just be sure to select the ‘Amazon Fresh’ option in the app and make sure the 16x promo is still showing when you purchase.
Reports are that Amex Business Gold to earn 4x if it’s one of your top two categories. And reports are that it counts as Online Shopping for BofA cards and Blue Cash card and ShopYourWay card. And it counts as Computer Software category for BofA Customized Cash Rewards cards and for 1.5x on the Business Platinum card.
Note: While there is no limit to the deal, you might be limited in overall quantities that can be purchased from Pepper in a day. So you might only get $2,000 or some other number until the app stops you. It’s sometimes possible to increase limits by calling in and verifying.

Stephen raises some very good points about using caution with them. The pace/size of these offers are now making me quite a bit nervous as well. This really does seem too good to be true or sustainable long-term, and the question is if/when we may experience a “default” on promised bonuses that many of us are floating.
Agreed. I’d only recommend buying if it makes some sense without the future earnings – just in case those never come.
Yeah I would only buy ones that I could either use or load onto my balance immediately, wouldn’t buy any for long term holding.
