Our Verdict
Google store is also offering increased trade in rates as well. Normally I love the pixel phones, but I have been disappointed with the Pixel 6 (connectivity mostly, although battery life seems to becoming a problem as well). Hopefully the 7 fixes some/all of these issues but I doubt I will upgrade at this stage.
Did anyone buy the Pixel 7 during this promotion period in October on Amazon? I bought it on 10.13.22. Received the $200 gift card from Amazon a week later, only for Amazon to charge $200 on my credit card for it, thus nullifying any promotion. It has been a nightmare to get this corrected.
One interesting thing I thought I’d share– I traded in one Pixel 6 with Google Store and another with Best Buy as a part of this deal. Google Store credited me exactly what they said they would ($440), but Best Buy seemed to also add tax ($480 + $40.20 = $520.20). Thanks, Best Buy
I bought Pixel 7 already – nice phone, happy with that.Just today I got new offer from Google store, that if any friend of my will buy the Pixel 7, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7 Pro. He will have 100$ store credit from Google Store, as well as myself, so some sort of referral program from Google store.
And the high Trade-in amount is still here as well
490$ for Pixel 6 – doing it a free upgrade, so if anyone did not buy at the time of pre order – that is the possibility to still get the bonus.
My promo code for reference:

So basically if you’d ordering any of the phone from Google store – adding that code would give you 100$ store credit from Google store.
Hopefully I didn’t broke any Rules

I was able to trade in my Pixel 6 for $440
+599.99 Pixel 7
+ 42.75 tax
– 440.00 Pixel 6 Trade in
– 100.00 Preorder credit
– 64.27 10% back for Google One Subscribers
= 38.47 Actual cost
Paid with my Freedom through paypal for the 5x back. For me, kinda works out to be free. Just gotta figure out what to spend the store credit on.
Well wait until you get the trade in credit along with spending more for the $100.Overall its not worth the hassle for Pixle 6 owner unless yours is bugging out.
I find it to be worth wild especially when Pixel devices depreciate so quickly. This will at least help hold some value. I will admit that the Pixel 6 and 7 aren’t all that different but I’m hoping that there will be improvements to the fingerprint scanner or at the very least I can use face unlock and HOPEFULLY better connectivity. The Samsung modem in the Pixel 6 is god awful.
Actually, a couple days after I placed my order Best Buy added the Pixel 6 as a trade in option for the Pixel 7. Its $480. I’d recommend doing that even if you’re a google one 2tb+ subscriber just so you know ,right then and there, what your trade in value is going to be. I haven’t had the best experience with mail in trade in promotions in the past.
Austin Can you explain how you were able to pay with your Chase Freedom via PayPal on the Google Store? When I get to checkout, I see Google Pay as the platform, with “PayPal: [my email address]” and “Add PayPal” as the two PayPal options. From everything I’ve read, using PayPal with Google Pay uses your PayPal balance + a top-up from your bank account/debit card (https://www.paypal.com/us/smarthelp/article/where-can-i-use-paypal-with-google-pay-help273).
Go to pay.google.com and add paypal as a payment method. It will show up in checkout. During first setup, you should be able to chose the default payment. If not, within Paypal go to Settings->Payments->Automatic Payments->Google and change it to what you want.
Fantastic, thank you!
Fyi Google store is offering $300 for the pixel 4a trade in again.
I’m going to buy with Verizon as my old Pixel 2 XL has a $700 trade in value. 3-year credits is not a big deal to me as I have no intentions to leave the carrier.
Google Store offering $247 for 64GB Pixel 3 on trade in credit for Pixel 7/7Pro purchase. Not bad given that we got a couple of Pixel 3’s from woot for $99 over a year ago.
Word is p7 still uses optical fingerprint. Hold for reviews before you pickup or open the box. If Google is throwing away so much money on these, I don’t know what is going on.
I’ve been having connectivity and other issues since buying my PIxel 6 a couple of months ago. Even worse, the Google technical support people who are theoretically helping me to resolve these issues are probably the most incompetent technical support people I’ve ever worked with. I might upgrade primarily in the hopes that these issues will go away with a new model of phone.
Do we know when the trade-in values for the Pixel 6 will start to drop?
Credit card guy
Pixel 6/Pro was never a good phone for connectivity. It used an old Samsung modem. 5G has always been crap. I have a 6 and use LTE exclusively.
All I can say is that if you are looking to do a trade-in, you might as well do it now.
Pixel 6 128 GB unlocked good condition:
Best Buy – $480 if you preorder the GP7/Pro ($230 + $250 Preorder promo. It is only $230 if you are doing a trade-in alone)
Google Play – $440 if you preorder the GP7/Pro
Gazelle – $244
AT&T – $220
Verizon – $215
T-Mobile – $205 (non-customer), $300 (current customer upgrade Google promo)
Amazon – $0, not listed as a supported device
Credit card guy If I had bought my GP6 I would be all over this deal ($480 PLUS $100 GC? You are essentially getting a free upgrade!). Unfortunately, I received the GP6 as part of a review program, and the terms explicitly state that I can’t do anything with the merchandise I receive from the program. I could probably get away with giving stuff to a friend (although I don’t do it) since it is impossible to track, but trading it in is super easy to track with the SN/IMEI.
Thanks! I had a $100 store credit on the Google Store–extended to me by Google as a kind of apology for the repeated problems I’ve had with the Pixel 6 and the less-than-stellar customer service–so buying from Google and using the store credit was a no-brainer. I was quoted the same $440 for the trade-in that you were. Assuming I actually receive that, it’ll end up costing me $94.94 ($599 + $35.94 tax – $100 store credit – $440 trade in), and then I’ll get my $100 in store credit back. I’ll probably use the store credit for a screen protector and maybe a case or something.
The way Doc’s description above is formatted, at first I thought I’d get BOTH a $100 Google Store credit AND a $100 Amazon gift card. I see now that it’s either/or, depending on where you order it.
Please also include that BestBuy is giving a $200 gift card for a the Pixel 7 Pro, and $100 gift card for the Pixel 7. Can also add a trade-in phone for additional discount:
