Plastiq Suspends Capital One Payments

Plastiq has sent out an e-mail to users stating:

As you know, Capital One has asked us to temporarily suspend processing of payments with their cards. We’re working closely with them to remedy the situation and will reach out as soon as we have an update for you. Meanwhile, consider trying some of these great credit cards that many of our customers use to pay their personal and business bills (list of Plastiq affiliate links of other card issuers)

Other card issuers are still being processed fine, at this stage it’s unclear why Plastiq has had to suspend Capital One payments and if it’s likely other card issuers will follow suit with similar requests or if this is a temporary issue.

The timing is certainly suspicious. The rep told me it happened about a month ago and it was crapital the one rejecting them. No timeline on a resolution.

Well they just came out with another Spark offer, and they want to prevent people from doing mass MS?

It might be issues with Yodlee, which Personal Capital has claimed Capital One problems through, off and on for months. At one point, fully five of my account purveyors were showing up as out of order in my account console and I’d done nothing to render them out of order; it was just PC’s (and maybe Yodlee’s) fault.

Capital One also has known issues with Plaid. Maybe they have a Mad Scientist working in the IT or security department?

I’m sure this has nothing to do with CapOne sending out 4% cashback offers at all.

Buy MC debit at Staples at 4% then use on Plastiq. That should be a temporary workaround.
