Plenti Program To End Tomorrow (July 10th) Remember To Use Remaining Points ASAP

American Express’ coalliation loyalty program Plenti will officially end tomorrow (July 10th). Points can continue to be used at Rite Aid stores and BI-LO, Fresco y Más, Harveys, and Winn-Dixie supermarkets through July 10th (meaning you can redeem them tomorrow but you won’t be able to from July 11th onwards), so make sure you use up any remaining points you may have.

Points earned at ExxonMobil will be transferred to ExxonMobil’s new loyalty program, same is true for points earned at Winn-Dixie. I’d personally still use up any points if possible.

Oh man. This is like watching a train wreck and new trains keep crashing into it:

– They send out a mailer asking people to register for their new loyalty program but forget to set up the portal — effectively making thousands (?) of naive people install a junk extension in their browser.

– After 4 days they set up the page and registration “works”. When activating the card, all info is pre-populated in the second step — but I couldn’t complete the step. Turns out that they forgot to sanitize the data when importing from Plenti and a leading + in the phone number was causing trouble. No error message whatsoever – I figured that out by retyping all fields.

– When submitting the second form, you get greeted with ‘ this phone number already has an account’. Great, why didn’t you tell me in step one or mention in the mailer that you silently created accounts for all Plenti users?

– Resetting the password via email actually works. (mindblown)

– When attempting to log in with the resetted password, the account suddenly doesn’t exist anymore. Or reset password doesn’t actually work and you just submit a form into Nirvana. Or both).

Plenti might have been a disaster from a marketing standpoint, but at least Amex has not total dope software engineers. This will be fun to watch …

Did you ever get this resolved? I managed to log in to my Rewards+ account, but my speedpass+ account does not seem to exist — at least not online; I’m still logged in to the app, though cannot link my Rewards+ number.

Edit: Apparently there are two unrelated issues: (1) speedpass.com isn’t allowing *any* logins; and (2) my account was blocked due to multiple invalid login attempts.

When logging into speedpass+ on the phone, I was asked to just create a password and was done. That worked surprisingly without any issues. I just tried the web login for exxon rewards and that works now too (using the password I created in the speedpass app). I can’t tell if they fixed the migration path using exxonmobilerewards.com tho.

I did receive the 100 points for signing up and my left-over 40 plenti points were transferred too. I also earned 15pts/gallon when filling up on gas and was able to redeem the initial 100 points without issues.

Yeah I have some orphan points earned at Exxon Mobil (less than 200) in Plenti that hopefully will transfer.

My wife got an Exxon Mobil Rewards+ card in the mail. It requires registration but the website isn’t ready. The brochure says Plenti points will transfer, and they’ll give a bonus of 100 points, 15 points per gallon for the first 30 days, then 3 points per gallon. So it looks like it’s 3 cents off a gallon in the long term.

I’d expect them to add the 10x promos they run every month on Plenti. Not that it actually makes a notable difference.

“It requires registration but the website isn’t ready.”

Yeah, ExxonMobil made multiple screwups trying to launch this. https://www.doctorofcredit.com/recap-leaving-miles-in-will-exxonmobil-bungled-rewards-more/

Been stacking Plenti with Exxon Speedpass, Dosh, and Chase Freedom this month, and just used all my Plenti points. Gonna miss it.

Did the same but with the 10% off with Amex Business Cards.

I believe Winn Dixie will be doing the same…thinking I’m going to hold onto the few points I actually do have to get them doubled up at Winn Dixie and Exxon.

ya exxon said they would transfer the plenti points into the new exxon program (and I remember thinking they would possibly be more valuable in the exxon program, so maybe beneficial to let the transfer happen)

I don’t think that is true. According to the mailer, I received a few days ago: “100 points = $1 in savings”.

You might be able to use $1 instead of the minimum of $2 at Plenti, but a point is worth 1cent in each program.

I seem to recall seeing in an email from Exxon that they would be transferring any unused Plenti points to their new program. Is this accurate?

Only the points earned at Exxon become Exxon points. Same for Winn-Dixie.

Where did you read this that only the Plenti points earned at Exxon will become Exxon points and not other points? Maybe I’m wrong but according to the site, it seems that you just had to have either signed up for Plenti through Exxon or have just used your Plenti card at an Exxon station within the last 12 months and if so, any of your points will be transferred to the new program.

https://www.plenti.com/faqs/program-termination

What will happen to my points after the program ends?

After July 10, 2018, any unredeemed Plenti points will expire. You should use your Plenti points by July 10, 2018.

Exxon and Mobil, and BI-LO, Winn-Dixie, Harveys and Fresco y Mas will replace, at a minimum, any unredeemed Plenti points earned at their respective locations between May 10, 2018 and July 10, 2018 with new points in their new programs. The issuance of replacement points could take two weeks or more once the Plenti program ends.

https://www.winndixie.com/register#learnmore
Can I still redeem Plenti points?

To ensure an easy and seamless transition to the new program, customers will be able to earn and use Plenti points until July 10, 2018. Customers who are fully registered in the Plenti program will be able to take the value of unredeemed points earned in our stores to the new SE Grocers rewards program

That’s interesting. It seems like different information is being given by Plenti and by Exxon. According to Exxon’s site, it doesn’t state those details you mentioned at all. It says:
After the Plenti program ends, any unused points will be matched by Exxon and Mobil in our new rewards program.†
—–†Applies to Plenti members who have shopped at Exxon or Mobil between July 2017 and July 2018, or enrolled in Plenti through Exxon or Mobil and have not opted out of data sharing.

So I wonder which one is accurate or if both of them are wrong.

“Exxon and Mobil, and BI-LO, Winn-Dixie, Harveys and Fresco y Más are planning to enroll Plenti members who enrolled in Plenti through them or who have earned or redeemed points with them since July 10, 2017 in their new independently run loyalty programs.”

https://www.plenti.com/home

Following your logic, you’d end up doubling your points, because they’d transfer in full to both exxon and the bilo/winn-dixxie programs.

Also, they already miserably screwed up starting the program. I have $0.25 left and wouldn’t trust that the transfer works.
