Our Verdict
So the publicly available bonus is $300 and available to everybody in the following states:Â AL, DC, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, MD, MI, MO, NC, NJ, NY, OH, PA, SC, VA, WI and WV. Some people might actually prefer that due to the credit card funding ability and not having to go in branch, obviously if you can fund in branch with a credit card and it’s not a cash advance then this deal is significantly better. The $30 bonus is pretty good for speaking with them as well, I can’t imagine they will bother you too much if you’re already planning on opening the checking account as well.
I’ll be adding this as a side note on our best checking bonuses page.

Update 4/26/17:
Went in today and signed up. Got the $400 / $30 offer, and said my wife, who also did this referred me, she gets an additional $25 for the referral.
Had to sign up and demo online banking. I put $5000 in the account to start since that negates any fees while I’m doing the debit transactions and DD.
Just had to say I saw the $400 offer and so and so referred me.
Thanks 🙂
Rep in my town was clueless about everything. PNC sucks as much as Santander reps
Went in yesterday and got it.
Noooo did I miss out on this??
Is this dead? Direct link to offer showing $300 bonus now for me.
Looks like it. I guess they pulled the offer early, the original expiration date was scheduled for April 30th.
Yes, I went to the branch yesterday. The banker told me the offer changed to $300 yesterday.
Bob,
I had no issues opening with higher bonus end of day yesterday. I could also hear the banker next door barging to someone of the street about the increased bonus only available in their branch.
I did have an appointment already set from for Friday that was made on Apr. 6.
This offer may be available at all newly opened PNC branches.
I changed the town in the original URL to mine, and this offer came up:
https://www.pnc.com/content/branches/en/kennesaw.html
This branch in Kennesaw, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta, opened in late January, so it’s worth trying this trick for any new branches.
The bankers actually didn’t know about the offer & had to call district manager for the offer code. They wouldn’t share it with me, but after a long wait, eventually found it in the computer. This is only available through the end of April.
It’s the exact same requirements as the current $300 promotion.
At this branch, the $30 offer is an eGift card from major national stores & restaurants. I submitted my information online, but the banker didn’t need it. You get the eGift card instantly at the end of the visit, or the banker can select the retailer for you & print out the certificate.
I chose Target, and it’s already been spent!
Thanks PR, looks like it’s $300 for some and $400 for others. I found these as well:

I feel bad. I just realized I didn’t make a food recommendation and robbed anyone of a pretty good meal that has already gone.
Firebirds is at the front of the plaza.
Happy Hour Mod-Fri 4 to 7 and Sat & Sun 1 to 5
Double Diamond Martni $5 – Pineapple soaked in vodka for 30 days. Great.
Pretzels and Beer Cheese – $5 – Awesome pretzel and usually the cheese is right on.
Steak Trio – Small sirloins (2oz ea?) 3 sauces – $?i forgot but cheap.
If you want dinner
They have really good (danish, small and tender) baby back ribs.
Prime Rib
Ok I feel better now even though this is technically off topic.
