Our Verdict
So the publicly available bonus is $300. Some people might actually prefer that due to the credit card funding ability and not having to go in branch, obviously if you can fund in branch with a credit card and it’s not a cash advance then this deal is significantly better. The $30 bonus is pretty good for speaking with them as well, I can’t imagine they will bother you too much if you’re already planning on opening the checking account as well.
I’ll be adding this as a side note on our best checking bonuses page.
Last time it didn’t last long before they changed it online to $300 from $400, so book an appointment now if you’re interested.

So basically I have to deposit all kinds of money. And spend it. Then deposit more money. Inorder to receive the bonus? How was anyone going to do that by December that’s not even 60 days. When I think of sign up bonuses. I think the money is there as soon as I sign up. Even the IRS does this for tax prep companies.
I currently have a PNC performance checking account, recently got a $300 sign-on bonus. (But this account was opened more than 6 months now. I can close it without early closing fee.)
May I quailify for this offer?
By the way, I need to finish the $5000 spending requirement of Chase United BIZ card.
Even I do not qualify for this offer, I still want to open a bank account with PNC.
If I keep my current PNC performance checking account open and then apply a new PNC bank account online, whether PNC still offer the option to fund the new account with credit card?
I am afraid in that case, PNC will only allow me to fund the new account with my current PNC performance checking account.
Does anyone have this kind of experience before?
Thank you very much!
Joe
Could you share your experience of how everything went?
Were you able to fund the new PNC account with credit card without closing your old account ? Did you receive bonus?
I am in a similar situation as you in 2019.
Thanks in advance!
Also opened in branch very easily yesterday with the $400 promotion. Called in the morning to set up an appointment at 4pm but probably didn’t need to. Debit card printed instantly.
Just a data point- I went into the Ansley Park branch this weekend and opened an account with the $400 promo. They said they are no longer doing the $30 for the 15 minute conversation.
You can find the offer at pncbank.com/newbranch and enter the branch zip 30324. It expires 3/31/19
Would it be ok in this instance to call the bank about this bonus? I would like to find out if the branch closer to me offers this bonus before driving into Atlanta? I read your previous post about not calling the bank on bonuses so just wondering if that would still apply here.
I don’t think it hurts to call and ask about a promotional offer. It’s when folks call a bank to see if a fake DD works that we want to avoid…

Typo: “4300” –> “$300” in the TOC and section header.
Unless this bonus is REALLY good 😉
Fixed, ty
OO.. I just closed my PNV virtual wallet accounts today. Is there once in a life time language for PNC bonuses?
I think it is generally 12 months since last bonus and 90 days since account closing.
I did this offer last summer, and then slacked off and didn’t end up meeting all the requirements and getting the bonus, but still opened the account. Do you think I’m still eligible to try again and close my account/open a second one and get the bonus, since technically I never did?
Wouldn’t touch this offer with a 9 foot pole. Worst bank I’ve dealt with since entering the game. TDLR: Put in my money, took months for me to be able to access it and 20+ phone calls. 7 months later exited unable to retrieve $300 bonus at the time.
At your own risk.
