Possible Way To Get 20,000 Point Offer On American Express Blue Business Plus

The best offer we’ve seen on the Blue Business Plus card from American Express is 20,000 points after $5,000 in spend. That hasn’t been publicly available for some time, although there are YMMV/targeted offers. Others have also been successful calling in and asking for the offer. Reader Mo K and friends have been succesful getting this offer to trigger by starting an application (when logged in) but not completing it. This seems to trigger an e-mail offer for 20,000 points at a later stage. Obviously no guarantee it will work, but never hurts to try. I wonder if this will work on other targeted offers as well? As always share your experiences in the comments below.

DP 12/19:

Called 800-492-3344. Told them I saw the 20K sign up bonus offer on their website but when clicking “Apply” it showed the offer is no longer available. The representative checked a little bit and said it is available and she can extend the offer to me. Applied & got approved in few minutes.

Approved for 20K MR with $5000 spend in 3 months.

Add a DP. I went through with App and then didn’t submit last week. Yesterday I got an email saying I was pre-approved for 20k MR after $5k in spend. Thanks Guys!

Also, tried to add card to my Amex Account and they said I would need a seperate login. I have two other Amex Biz cards. Anyone know why?

This happened to me with the Simply Plus card. Just wait for it to physically arrive, then activate it, and you should have the option to add to your existing login.

Better to just abandon the application or click the “save&apply later” button first?

Is the email offer targeted to the person who tried to apply? What I mean is if I apply and do not complete the application. I later get an email and if click on it does it take me to my incomplete app or can anyone click on the link and apply and get the offer?

Does anybody know if the MR points from your personal and business cards are clubbed under the same MR account? I know the same happens if you have multiple personal cards earning MR points.

If the MR points across personal and business cards are not clubbed under the same MR account, is there a way they can be transferred within?

Yes they are, even if you have different logins for bus/pers. I’ll assume it’s ultimately based on your SS#.

no its not. although the default option is to group all personal and biz MR accounts together automatically based on SSN when u apply, but there are times when this does not happen. u have to double check or your MR bonus may be in an abyss somewhere.

for me personally, i want to keep personal and business separate. so you have to call the MR dept and they will split the personal and biz MR accounts for you. but then all future transfers between those 2 accounts have to be manually done via phone call.

some people may not like that and want everything under one roof including one online login for personal and business. thats a mistake IMHO. many issues when u do that. esp with amex offers. therefore, u want to keep MR accounts separate.
