Priority Pass Adds Airport Offers

Priority Pass is now offering members offers at specific retailers at 146 airports over 32 countries. The offers vary by merchant, with Priority Pass saying they will offer discounts, upgrades and free gifts. To view the offers you need to log into the Priority Pass website or app and then search the look up the airport you’re interested in. You’ll then be presented with a list of offers, clicking an individual offer will give you a unique code that needs to be presented to that retailer. Most discounts seem to be around 10%.

Personally I don’t find this to be too useful because I don’t like to shop at an airport, but I guess some deals might be useful and it’s always good to have more options/discounts. I hope Priority Pass spends resources on securing more lounges and restaurant partners rather than these offers though.

I don’t mind this, but the few discounts I saw yesterday were 10% at those overpriced cell phone charger stores. Not super worthwhile. Also, hopefully they separate these from lounges so its not hard to find them.

I’ve found a lot of duty-free at the airport cheaper than buying from stores that cater to tourists.

I’ve only used their app once but never tried again because it logged me out and can’t remember which username and password combo belong to what PP account or whether an account is closed because cc was closed. I wish it would just keep you logged in.

Closed CC = closed PP. Solved.

Not always true… downgraded my SO CSR to Freedom, and her PP is still up and running. I did it last second though… a couple of days before the AF would have became non-refundable, and therefore the new PP has already been sent to us by that time with new expiration date … It says expiration date 2021, and it is still working (used it after downgrade – just to see if it works). We will see if it last that long… do not need it as have other PPs, but … why not. Could be a glitch.

Couldn’t they technically charge you the $31 per “visit” later for those visits to the CC attached to PP since it was only downgraded it’s the same account number.

If not that’s an awesome glitch!

It seems like priority pass is moving away from lounges and more into credits at restaurants and now this. Personally, I’d like to see them do more to add lounges. My guess is they have a lot of new revenue from the influx of customers from the CSR.

I personally think it’s great to have both, especially with domestic flights.

For example, PDX is one of my favorite airports to fly through right now with Priority Pass. I don’t even bother trying to get into the Alaska lounge there.

That airport has Priority Pass access to two genuinely good airport restaurants, and one distillery in the airport. All with better food and drinks than any domestic lounge I’ve ever been in.

That means that if you have the CSR, you and two guests could eat $252 worth of food and drinks during your layover, all on Priority Pass’ dime. Every time you fly. I’ve actually routed a connecting flight through there just to take advantage.

Now, if these “offers” cut into or replace the $28 credit at airport restaurants, the card will lose significant value to me. But so far I’ve been really happy with Priority Pass’ direction of adding more lounges and restaurants.

Is this only for certain memberships? I am not seeing it on the website or the app.

I dont think Priority pass pays for this. I think they charge the stores for publicity. Just like groupon doesnt pay for deals.

Meh, it should help for the times when you get to the gate and remember too late: You should have brought something to read.

It will prevent you from needing to shop SkyMall!

Looking at my local airport, it seems the percent off offers have a minimum purchase required, which really does make them annoying to use.

EDIT: Interestingly, Duty Free Americas has no minimum purchase required
