The Offer
- Qatar is offering a 30% transfer bonus when you transfer bonuses from Citi & HSBC among other programs.
The Fine Print
- This campaign is open to all active Privilege Club members who have a loyalty account with participating partners in the prescribed markets and have a minimum amount of rewards points to convert to Avios.
- Privilege Club members will earn bonus Avios on converting rewards points from a participating partner into Avios.
- The bonus Avios awarded will be 30% of the number of base Avios converted in a single transaction.
- The bonus Avios will be calculated per transaction and not on the cumulative sum of base Avios converted from rewards points during the campaign period.
- The conversion of rewards points to base Avios is subject to the conversion ratio and terms and conditions set forth by the participating partner.
- The participating partners are Ahli United Bank (Bahrain, Kuwait), Ahlibank (Qatar), Bank of Maldives (Maldives), Bank of New Zealand (New Zealand), Banque Saudi Fransi (Saudi Arabia), Chinabank (Philippines), CIMB (Malaysia), Citibank (Australia, Hong Kong, India, Philippines, Poland, Singapore, South Korea, United Arab Emirates, United States of America) , Commercial Bank (Qatar), CTBC Bank (Taiwan), Doha Bank (Qatar), Dukhan Bank (Qatar), Emirates Islamic (United Arab Emirates), HSBC Hong Kong, HSBC Singapore, HSBC Sri Lanka, Hyundai Card (South Korea), Kasikorn Bank (Thailand), Kuwait Finance House (Kuwait), Mashreq (United Arab Emirates), National Bank of Kuwait (Kuwait), Qatar International Islamic Bank (Qatar), QNB (Qatar), Ping An E-Wallet (China). For more details, refer to the respective partner page here.
- All bonus Avios earned will be reflected in your Privilege Club account by 15 June 2024.
- The bonus Avios will not be awarded if the conversion transaction occurs outside the campaign period under any circumstances.
- Once the conversion transaction has taken place, the transaction cannot be reversed.
Our Verdict
This is transfer bonus from Qatar rather than HSBC/Citi, so bonus won’t be reflected when transferring. Sometimes we see an offer for 25% back so this is obviously better than that.
Bonus posted instantly for me. Transferred 100,000 Citi points and Qatar showed an incoming transfer of 130,000 points.
5/2/24: Transferred 30,000 Citi TYP and instantly received 39,000 QR Avios
I haven’t gotten the bonus from the last time lol
is it any good to travel to india? how are the fees?
Usually 85k avios + $300 usd roundtrip economy to India if you can get the deal. If you want business look at AA or Alaska awards.
Qatar’s online reward booking sucks. It just sends an email to a rep who then checks availability offline and emails you.
I have booked award ticket online directly this year. Also helped a friend do the same. No rep involved.
Bonus is instant from Qatars side.
Just a datapoint for reference. I transferred some TY points yesterday and the points plus bonus showed up instantly.
I was so shocked—I thought I had left points in my Privilege Club account by mistake. Just double check your activity to confirm the transfer plus bonus.
hsbc has transfer partners?! what does the full list look like?
Sure it does. I think HSBC has TAP bonus too. Check your account for bonus.
1 point in, 1.3 points out doesn’t seem better than 0.75 points in, 1 point out.
Can you then freely transfer these miles, plus the bonus, to other Avios programs like BA?
You’ll need to link your BA account, but you definitely can transfer to BA. Once there, the Avios can transfer to Aerclub or Iberia Plus.
Yes
Yes.
Last time they had a deal like this, I transferred the Avios to BA and from there to Iberia. Be aware that you won’t get the 30% bonus until later (June 15 this time around).
