Update 9/22/20: Promotion has been updated so if you use a Radisson credit card you can get an extra 5,000 points (first stay). Hat tip to FM
The Offer
- Radisson Rewards is offering 5,000 bonus points for every stay completed before December 31st, 2020
The Fine Print
- To be eligible for the Promotion, you must: (i) Be a Radisson Rewards member (“Member”); (ii) Register online for the Promotion prior to checkout of the Eligible Stay (to become an “Eligible Member”) and (iii) Complete Eligible Stays between July 1, 2020 and December 31, 2020 (“Promotion Period”). The Promotion is available at all Radisson Collection, Radisson Blu, Radisson, Radisson RED, Park Plaza, Park Inn by Radisson, and Country Inn & Suites by Radisson hotels worldwide (collectively, “Participating Properties”).
- Eligible Stays reserved prior to the Promotion Period are eligible for this Promotion, but must be consumed during the Promotion Period to be eligible and must have been booked via an eligible booking source with an eligible rate.
- Eligible Members will earn Bonus Points for each Eligible Stay completed at Participating Properties during the Promotion Period, not to exceed 150,000 total Bonus Points (“Promotion Bonus”). Bonus Points will be credited to the Member’s account throughout the Promotion Period, when the standard points are credited, usually within 5-10 business days after the Eligible Stay has been consumed.
Our Verdict
Nice simple promotion, I like the fact that you don’t need to complete one stay before you start earning which seems to have become the standard for hotel promotions. It’s worth registering now just in case you have a stay and forget to register.

I got an Amex offer the other day for spend $100 get $20 back on Radisson if you don’t go the Radisson visa route.
It appears only the first stay paid by Radisson Visa earns the extra 5k
Let me make this clearer
It seems that only Premium Award nights are now available (50% more). I don’t see any standard nights.
Does the reward stay count as qualifying stay?
There’s a link to the promo above, and in that link are the T&Cs, and they say:
‘An “Eligible Night” means a night at a Participating Property that is booked at an Eligible Rate, identified in the Participating Property’s reservation system as eligible to earn Radisson Rewards Points (“Points”).’
So, no, of course not, because you don’t normally earn points on a rewards stay. And it says “eligible rate”, so even if you do some other charges while checked in, that’s not part of the “rate”, and you’re not earning point on the reward night “rate”.
Now, if you do a reward stay anyway, and they happen to make a mistake and give you the 5000 points, be happy. But definitely don’t expect it.
But have you seen how inexpensive some hotels are these days (because so few people are traveling)? You should always double check whether the hotel is worth using rewards points for, or whether it’s a better deal to pay and earn points (including any bonus points) instead.
My only concern in this promo is whether the hotel is worth paying for if all the services are temporarily suspended, and not you’re not getting much more than just a room. How many services are suspended is not the same for all hotels; a lot of “full service” hotels have way more services suspended than “low end” hotels do, just because they had more services to being with.
