The Offer
- Through May 13th, Rakuten shopping portal is offering 15%/15x at Dell, Saks Fifth Ave, Nike, Groupon, Ulta, Tumi, Viator, Staples, and many more stores.
- Some people are even seeing targeted offers for 20x at some of these retailers, such as Viator and others.
Our Verdict
These increased deals are always nice. Dell and Saks are particularly interesting to our readers due to the Amex credits at those stores.
Dell no longer shows 15%
Zappos is at 15x and can be paired well with the Amex offer of Spend $100 get $20 back.
Stack Dell with Amex offer of Spend $250/$50 back.
x20 at Nike for me. Used for some new running gear. Nice bonus!
I haven’t dealt with Rakuten in a long time – back in the ebates days. So question ..
They say that a physical mailing address is required to get paid (even if you use PayPal or Amex to get paid), and that it can be added in Account Settings.
There is no place in account settings to add/change a physical mailing address. I see only email, password, and mobile number.
Who’s they? If there’s no obvious place to add the address maybe it’s not as necessary as you think?
For PayPal doesn’t it link to your account by opening the PayPal page, like a credit card would?
Ugh. I just bought a Dell laptop and got 1% cash back. I used the Amex 120 off.
15% plus 120 off would have been amazing
But I don’t think there’s any way to get my 120 off Dell offer back from Amex, even if I returned the laptop ..
If the Amex offer has not expired (you should be able to check the expiration date in its details under the Offers Added tab), and if you can still return the laptop (Dell’s 30 day return window), I think you can order the same or a different Dell product this week during the elevated Rakuten GiveBack, return the first purchase and come out ahead. I’ve done this before with Amex’s semi-Annual $200 credit on Amex Business Platinum cards. I know its a Benefit/Credit in my case, and an offer in your case, but they are similar in that they both have expiration dates.
thanks for the heads up! checked saks earlier today and it was still at 2%
It was 15%, now back to 2%. Was planning to buy something for mother’s day but fck them $200 min order for free shipping meaning the 10% code only covers shipping. Amex should just stop supporting that crap.
Went instead with Macy’s which is 15% today. Same price for the item I wanted plus they threw in a gift for my $160 purchase and of course free shipping.
yeah they’re getting stingy with shipping now… i remember it was free over $50 or the like before? i only go there since amex plat gets $50 credit every 6 months, so this time what i bought plus $10 shipping was just over $50 😅
Tip – order $200 worth and return everything but the item you wanted originally. FREE SHIPPING!
Wow… never thought of this. Strong work!
