Our Verdict
Deal might not last long. Reader Davis shared this deal and notes that the 9-meal item for the cheapest items ($5.99) will land you at a $23.91 order. That gets you some free food with a $1 moneymaker. If you get the 10% back from Chase Offers it’ll increase your moneymaker to over $3. Some people value Rakuten points at more than 1 cent which would make it even better.
Another option is to use an Amex Offer foro $25 off $75. That would require a larger order of $75+, but you’ll get back $25 from Amex and $25 from Rakuten.
Be sure to cancel or pause the subscription once it has shipped if you don’t want to keep it. This can be done online in the ‘Manage Plan’ option within the account.
Deal History:
- Update 9/4/23: $55 again today on Rakuten for Labor Day. Cheapest option now is 9 meals of Forager Bowls, which ends up being $31 after promo code. After $55 rakuten cashback it’s a $24 moneymaker. (Others mention lattes being just $24 which would make this a $31 moneymaker.) You can also get 10% back if you save that Chase Offer for additional profit. And there’s an Amex Offer for $25-off-$75 if you want to spend more. (ht to readers thedailychurn and Davis)
- Update 1/17/23: Rakuten deal expired. There’s now an Amex Offer deal available through 4/17/23 for $25 off $75
- Update 1/14/23: Available again. Hat tip to reader Davis
- Update 6/29/22: If you ordered the lentils there is a recall.
- Update 6/10/22: Back to $37.50 for the next three days.
- Update 3/7/22: It’s at $37.50/3,750 now (ht Davis and Kris)
- Update 2/21/22: Increased even more to $42.50/4,250 now. I think it would be a $20.50 moneymaker now + food. (I’m not seeing the increase, but seems like everyone else is.) Hat tip Rene and RS
- Update 2/19/22: Increased to $37.50 back, meaning it’s even better.

Chuck Deal back on Rakuten at $52.50
The Daily Harvest cashback from Rakuten is a complete hit or miss scenario. If you didn’t get a cashback notification a few hours after ordering, you will need to contact Rakuten to get the cashback added to your account
Davis Any advice from your experience? Did this on 2/19 morning. Still no tracking from Rakuten. Didn’t use Amex. Does it take this long to track or did I just lose $41.xx on stupid food?
Put in a request to rakuten and you’ll likely get it
Down to $17.50 back on Rakuten. Was planning to do this, but only worth it for me at $50+ CB.
I ordered on 02/17 didn’t track yet. I know for many it tracks immediately but I am afraid I have to reach rakuten in the future multiple times.
DP: Rakuten and AMEX emails both received about 3 hours after my 4PM (pacific) 2/17 order
Used Chrome Extension on Desktop
Cashback is back up to $57.50 now
Vino any update? I’m in the same boat and Rakuten hasn’t been replying
Reached out to Rakuten they credited after providing all the details they asked. Usually they submit to store but this time they did it by themselves quickly
did it twice on the same rakuten account and both track. if it doesn’t track, rakuten will probably just say its one offer per person
Lately, they have an excuse for every possible scenario. The last one for me was, “you can’t use a gift card”. Wish there was a better competitor. I’ve used all the major ones. They all suck!
I do this one once a year or so. But this time DH seems to be banning my address, oh well.
Promptly canceled my order after reading all the stories about people going into liver failure over a contaminant found in this company’s food and the company’s piss poor response to it. Not worth the $20 or the time and effort to throw away the food.
From what I can see the product that caused it was Lentil and Leek Crumbles. I am most surprised that they sold 28,000 packages of it in under two months. How in the world did this company sell so much if it? I am in the wrong business if there are this many people ordering such massively overpriced mail order food.
“Last week, the company posted an update on its website saying that it had received approximately 470 reports of illness or adverse reactions, and that approximately 28,000 units of the recalled product were distributed to customers in the United States from April 28 to June 17.”
Everyone is being negative on the food, but I personally have loved all the items I got and am continuing my subscription. Some of the grains are the safest if your not very adventurous as well as the more ordinary looking forager bowls and smoothies. The pops are really good too and should appeal to a broader audience.
i genuinely liked the food too. i am plant-based so maybe my tastes are different than others. but i had a variety of harvest bowls and coconut bites and all was good to me.
