RM,

I wanted to put this comment in the TCB post but it is currently down as  Chuck is probably currently updating the post with the link that I provided to him for the new promo.

Anyway, I decided that it was a good time to purchase an Albertsons GC for this TCB promo as it only requires a $15+ purchase, which I am sure that you are aware of.

Anyway, the email confirmation shows “USPS First Class (with Delivery Confirmation)” so it appears that it really is a physical GC rather than a “paper” GC, like you speculated. Have you ever purchased an Albertsons GC through CC before? If so, did it sometimes come by email as a “paper” GC while other times come by snail mail?

I don’t like that it’s only a 45 day warranty from purchase as it could take at least a week to arrive!

Eric 🔗 I have bought many Albertsons cards from CardCash. They stopped coming by e-mail since Albertsons switched to INCOMM and QR-code based cards. They always come by snail mail. Sometimes it’s a plastic card, sometimes it’s a paper printout. No way to tell until you receive it.

Now I understand. Is the “paper printout” similar to the eGCs that I had been purchasing from AARP? Does it get mailed by the seller or does it come directly from CC?

Was it only the 1 time that you had an issue with the GC that you received?

RM
RM (@guest_2017871)
March 6, 2025 11:20

Eric 🔗 Yes, it’s similar to the AARP cards but printed out. Mailed by CardCash. Only had an issue one time, but with two cards from the same seller with the same bad printer. CardCash offered a refund, but had no other way of fixing the issue. I eventually got Albertsons to reissue the cards, but it took a few weeks.

This sort of thing can happen with plastic GCs too. Just got a Trader Joe’s one where the plastic strip was scratched. Had to have that one reissued too.

It’s a little disappointing that CC wouldn’t be more careful on approving sales like that since the cards are in their position.

RM,

I just received a shipping notice by email from CC and it shows “Safeway” for the “Merchant”. I realize that Safeway is owned by Albertsons but it’s still annoying that they are sending me a different GC than I purchased. Has the same happened to you?

Yes, when you order Albertsons (or Kroger) you may get a card from any banner, not necessarily Albertsons (or Kroger). It has never caused an issue for me.

I just did my final spins as today is the final day of the game. I only won cash on 4 spins for a total of < $3. Therefore, I will not be making a $30+ purchase and will forfeit the bonus cash.

If J2🤓 hadn’t provided me their DP, I might or might not have tried. Anyway, let me know if you guys end up trying and if so, if the bonus cash ends up getting activated and confirmed.

Eric 🔗 I bought a bunch of grocery GCs (Aldi/Trader Joe’s/Kroger/Target) from CardCash, as did P2 and P3. All bonuses show “Confirmed.” P3’s bonuses from Black Friday show as “Payable” and have not disappeared; P1 and P2’s bonuses from Black Friday still show “Confirmed.”

I wonder whether the disappearance issue is limited to Giftcards.com.

J2🤓,

You earlier wrote “Yes, I had $9 of bonuses and bought $30 ebay from egifter and it tracked. All bonuses disappeared and then denied after investigation.”

Can you clarify if your bonuses ever showed as “Confirmed” like they do for RM’s P1, P2 & P3 and then “disappeared”? Or did they never get “Confirmed” and simply “disappeared”?

Besides only accumulating < $3, I also am nervous about purchasing an Albertsons GC from CC after seeing your experience. If I knew it was definitely physical and not “physical”, I would probably try it out to see what happens with the bonus cash.

I got a total of $1.13 with my spin today. I double checked the terms of the 3% ticket and now see that it also excludes giftcard purchases. If the terms are stricly enforced I’d be out $3.45 on a $250 GC.com VGC purchase. If it counts, my upside would be $5.18…I no longer like the odds.

Eric 🔗
Eric 🔗 (@guest_2009604)

For $5.18, maybe it’s worth it for you to try for a $30+ no fee GC purchase using the 3% bonus. What do you think?

Anthony Paganini
Anthony Paganini (@guest_2010539)
February 23, 2025 12:36

I missed this, but wouldn’t have been $5.18 upside in you scenario. Had I done an one4all I forgo at least $1.59 at Topcashback…my best case would be I’d get 4% on $30 plus the $1.13 = $2.33, worst case I get 30 cents, and in both cases I still have to figure out how to liquidate the thing. Thanks for the idea but I wasn’t curious enough to try.

I misunderstood your initial comment. I thought that you were saying that you received $1.13 on the final day and $5.18 in total bonuses throughout the promo. I now understand that you were adding all possible gains for that $5.18 total.

I absolutely agree with your strategy sitting this one out. Remember, I had more of a bonus than you and I didn’t try to activate it.

Like previous, Chewy has tracked for me. The only other vendors that have tracked with RebatesMe over the years for me have been HomeDepot.com, Giftcards.com, and Peacock TV.

When Android updated their security scanning on Google Play Store apps last year, my Google Pixel phone recommended that I uninstall the RebatesMe app last year. Same with the Temu app.

FYI, a GC.com purchase does not count for activating the bonus cash. I confirmed that with CS after seeing the below line in the terms. Any other ideas for spending $30+?

“To activate your cash bonus, your orders (excluding travel, services, gift cards, fraudulent orders, and missing orders) must be tracked by RebatesMe and reach a total of $30 or more, with a cash back amount greater than $0.”

RM,

#1. What’s their “own gift card website”? I searched for “gift cards” in the RM search bar and didn’t find anything.

#2. I wrote that CS specifically told me that gc sites are excluded from this promo. So I am not just speculating.

#3. Of course #2 does not mean that CardCash and GC.com won’t work for the promo. It just means that they are not supposed to.

#4. Did other promos have this exact wording? I only looked over the exclusions this time because the sites that I normally use through RM are no longer offering any CB and thus can’t be used to trigger the bonus.

#5. Are you going to make a purchase from GC.com or CC for this promo? If so, Anthony Paganini and I will look forward to your DP!

Good catch! I hadn’t looked myself for any exclusions yet but it’s always possible that I would have missed that.

Albertsons is interestingly a physical GC. Do you know if CC charges a fee for physical GC like GC.com does?

BTW, I’m surprised that you aren’t bothered by the 8% off on AARP for Kroger that you are missing out on by buying on CC!

RM
RM (@guest_2007221)
February 18, 2025 17:57

Eric 🔗 CardCash does not charge extra for physical GCs.

2 x 5 x $50 Kroger cards from AARP is not enough for us because there is a Kroger fuel station in town, so that accounts for a good chunk of the spend. So any other source of Kroger cards is always welcome.

Paper printouts of eGCs are included in their definition of “physical” for Albertsons cards. I learned about this the hard way because one of the printouts had a smudged QR code and it took forever to resolve.

J2🤓,

#1. Did you miss my comment #2007047 ? I wrote that CS told me the same thing.

#2. Did you actually attempt to purchase from a GC site and have it track but not count to activate a bonus? If not, RM is probably correct that in practice, they don’t enforce that rule.

#3. Now of course if the gc order doesn’t track, we would have no recourse due to the terms.
