- Green Dot Prepaid Card Settlement, Get Up To $100/$750 For Service Disruption In May 2016 by Danny Deal Guru. Seems like a good outcome for cardholders.
- TSA raising aviation security baseline with stronger domestic security measures by TSA. I’ll leave the criticizing of TSA to others, but keep in mind these new measures.
- Up to 1.67 cents per point value from ThankYou points by Frequent Miler. Nice combo, wonder if Citi will kill this or they will be OK with it as I imagine they want people holding two cards with annual fees?
- Got Expiring United Miles? Buy a Can of Soup from Walmart.com! by Miles For Family. Purchasing a song can work from iTunes as well, but at least with the Walmart idea you should be able to pick up something you actually need.
Unfortunately, the TYP example is only 1.25 cpp.
The 4th night is free whether it is a cash or points booking. Ergo, using points doesn’t have any affect on cpp. It would only increase cpp if you only got the 4th night free using points.
Completely agree. His math makes no sense. Its based on the full value of 4 nights. You are only paying for three nights whether its cash or points. I rather charge it and earn the 3x points. On top of that Citi pays 3x points on travel and only charge you 1x point on 4th free night credit!
There is only soup.

Time to go blow those global entry / pre check credits! I bet the lines are about to get a tad longer.
While I suppose the 1.67¢ per point technically is correct, there is an opportunity cost valuing it like that. I wouldn’t value ty points intrinsically like that. The discount is available no matter what currency you use. I personally would prefer a statement credit from arrival+ or venture for using the 4th night free. I realize that is not an option for everyone. I guess if you are finding it difficult to use ty points this makes sense for some.
