- How credit cards changed the way we spend by BBC. Really interesting read about the history of credit cards.
- [Ouch!] Major Changes to Total Rewards 2018 Benefits by Travel Zork. Don’t really follow this much, but might be an interesting overview for some readers.
- Not Receiving A Mistake Fare Is Not Blog Worthy by TPOL. I tend to agree with this, as long as they cancel the fare within a reasonable period of time. It is annoying that there is seemingly one set of rules for consumers and another for corporations though. Airlines should be officially given the same grace period that they give consumers (e.g 24 hours) to cancel.
- How to know if an Amex Offer is available? by Frequent Miler. Very nice!
Quick question: if i bought something from tigerdirect or Amazon and went through a Cashback portal and paid with my Amex to get 3x MR points will it work?
I.e will it stack?
Yes it will.
But it didn’t work when I tried to buy amazon prime membership through TCB. what is the difference?
It coded as merchandise for Amex.
I assume you’re talking about the amex offer that was for prime? When you go through a portal like topcashback for Amazon prime it doesn’t code as Amazon prime, it codes as something slightly different to prevent you from double dipping.
Yes. I know. My question is, is that the only exception?
Can I usually assume amex offers and Cashback portals will stack but just Amex prime membership offer does not stack?
Or are there other pitfalls to be aware of? Do you just learn this through trial and error or is there a more rigorous way to know something will work or not
amex offers and cashback portals will normally stack, it’s rare they don’t and usually pointed out in the article. Yes mostly through trial and error
