- Stacking American Express Hilton Aspire Credit Card $250 Resort Credit & DoubleTree AMEX Offer ($45 Off $225) by Travel With Grant.
- Chemical Bank to merge with TCF Financial Corp., change name by Detroit Free Press. TCF often offers bank bonuses, so this should open an opportunity for those in Michigan to get those offers. Hat tip to reader Brian.
- Deaf couple: Delta Air Lines agent discriminated against us by USA Today.
- Interesting data point from Steve saying he purchased a Marriott gift card online and received the $300 SPG luxury credit.

Thanks for linking to my Hilton stacking blog post 🙂
Chemical Bank rarely (if ever) offers bank bonuses. This merger could be bad and they stop offering bank bonuses.
Yes, but TCF has basically acquired Chemical bank so you’d expect to see the standard TCF bonuses rather than Chemical banks no bonus mantra brought across.
It’s interesting that the acquiring bank is adopting the name of the acquired bank. That’s what happened with the NY-based Chemical Bank in 1996. They acquired Chase Manhattan and adopted the Chase name. It seems to be part of trend of banks to adopt meaningless (or at least less meaningful) names.
