This account can have it’s monthly fee removed if you do any of the following:
- Have an average monthly balance of $1,500 or more
- Receive a single qualifying direct deposit of $500 or more per cycle
- Receive cumulative direct deposits of $1,000 or more per cycle
Early Account Termination Fee
There is a $25 early account termination fee if the account is closed within 120 days, it’s also necessary that the account stays open for the bonus to post.
$50 Referral Bonus
There is a $50 referral bonus, but both the $200 bonus and $50 bonus say that offers cannot be combined. In previous promotions people were able to get this added to their offer regardless. I’d recommend reading the comments on this post for more information. I’d recommend opening the account first with the $200 bonus and then adding the referral information later, although there is still some risk
Our Verdict
Regions Bank has offered a $350 bonus for most of these targeted areas in the past, although some of them have only had the $250 bonus. They also offered a $165 bonus in the past as well. This is a pretty good bonus and looks like it can be churned as long as you didn’t have an account open on or after August 1st, 2015. We haven’t added it to our list of the best bank bonuses, due to their being a better $350 bonus in the past that might come back – but this is still a very good bonus for those that missed out last time.
We will add it to our bank bonus database, that can be found here.

Just finished with checking account funding
I tried 3 times for Barclay arrival+ card and it couldn’t process, so gave up and use checking account.
I used one referral in comment and please use my link

Thank you so much
Any data points on accounts opened outside of the targeted area, did someone receive the opening bonus?
Anyone outside of the designated list of markets applied and got the bonus?
I opened the checking and savings accounts today and ran into a couple issues. I attempted twice to fund with my United Explorer but both times got declined (CA limit is 1,000; first tried to do the full 2,000 then tried to do just 500 in checking and 499 in savings). I tried funding it a third time with the UE business for 500 and it went through (CA limit also 1,000 for this one). I’ll report back in a few days if it posts as a cash advance.
When I logged into my new account I noticed I have 6 different account numbers! Apparently the first two times I tried and failed to fund with my UE I accidentally created new accounts. Anyone else have this issue? I’m going to call tomorrow to get this sorted out
The MPE business did code as a purchase
I’ve had a positive experience with Regions and I will probably stick with them. I opened my LifeGreen checking account using this promo offer for $200 on 02/26/16 with $51 cash. I put $50 in my checking account and $1 in my savings. I started using their debit card as my primary credit card and quickly made my 10 checkcard purchases. My previous bank didn’t offer bank to bank transfers using the ACH system, so I opened up an account with Iberia Bank to go for their $300 bonus. I transferred $507 from Iberia Bank to Regions Bank on 03/21/16 and Regions immediately gave me my $200 bonus the very next day, on 03/22/16. My electronic transfer from Iberia Bank was labeled a bill payment by Regions but it met their requirements. My reward bonus was labeled as “marketing reward”. I’m very impressed with Regions. I earned my $200 bank account bonus in less than 1 month! I opened my account on Feb. 26 and had the bonus money in my new account by March 22. And this was with my having to open a new account at Iberia Bank to meet the DD requirements at Regions. Without having to do this, I’m sure I could have earned the marketing reward even faster. I wasted over a week by making a bank transfer from my old bank (SouthPoint Bank) that failed. So after I opened my Regions account, I opened my Iberia account…and so far, it’s working out well. But it will take 105 days to earn the bonus from Iberia. I’m so impressed with Regions that I may continue to bank with them.
Thank you for interesting article! I use Regions bank for 3 years and I can say that I am satisfied with its work. I think that it is a good bank.
I’ve just hit a speed bump in my quest for the bonus. The little bank that I currently belong to, they don’t use the ACH system to transfer money from one bank to another, or say they say. I’m still going to try it but I will also need to open another bank account that makes ACH transfers. Can anyone recommend a good online bank for that? I’ve seen some posters write about Capital One Online banking.
Those you have received the bonus, can you comment on how long after you completed the requirement for bonus to post?
The following link stacks with the $250 bonus and gets you another $50 bonus (as a gift card).
I received the $250 bonus a month ago, and an additional $50 gift card today.
I filled out the form after opening the account.
I keep good notes, this is the link that worked for me:

Regions Bank is so great to work with – they keep their word and credit as expected – really enjoyed this banking process.
