The Fine Print

Avoiding Fees
Monthly Fees
LifeGreen Preferred Checking has a $18 monthly fee. This is waived if you do any of the following:
- Avoid the monthly checking account fee by doing one of the following:
Maintain a $5,000 average monthly statement balance in your LifeGreen Preferred Checking account. OR - Have $25,000 in combined minimum deposit balances from all your Regions checking, savings, money markets, CDs and IRAs. OR
- Have $25,000 in combined minimum outstanding loan balances from your Regions personal installment loans, lines of credit, equity lines of credit, equity loans, direct loans and credit cards in good standing. OR
- Have certain qualifying first-lien home mortgage loans in good standing
Early Account Termination Fee
There is an early account closure fee of $25 if you close your account within 180 days of account opening.
Referral Bonus $50
There is also a referral bonus you can receive in addition to this $200 bonus (bringing the total to $250). This has worked in the past, but it is no guarantee to work this time around. Do not share your referrals in the comments below, they can be found and shared here.
Our Verdict
This is better than the standard $300 bonus that is available, downside is that it requires an account that is more difficult to keep fee free. If you’ve got the $5,000 to keep this fee free most people will prefer the extra $100 (although it’s borderline compared to just keeping that in a 5% account). We will add this to our list of the best checking bonuses.

Anybody try out of state in branch opening? Visiting Florida in a couple of weeks, might give it a try. (o:
Hello team,
I see no language regarding closure of past accounts. I closed my last regions account on Jan-2024. Would I be eligible?
when do they start charging monthly fee? (two statements or immediately)
After I apply for the account, It said I can sign up for online banking. unfortunately, it need either ATM/CheckCard Number or Customer Number. ATM/CheckCard will take a while, so How do I get my customer number to enroll on online banking? (I thought their system is pretty stupid 2-3 years ago to require the above information, looks like they haven’t change)
You’re 100% right. They don’t put themselves in the customer shoes.
For TD Bank, it’s worse I applied for the kid in branch, no ATM or Debit card, they did not provide any account number and I had very hard time ( 1h15 on the phone) to try to enroll the online account.
At least this bank REGIONS provides a tracker for the welcome bonus
Anyone have a data point for two persons at the same address? Will both persons receive bonus?
Account opened – 1/13
Chase personal transfer $5050 – 1/16
Checked tracker on 1/29 and all the requirements are completed.
Wait and see for bonus time then 🙂
Same. No bonus money yet though. Any ETA?
Went to branch and everything was resolved. The banker told me the bonus code was applied but that the offer tracker doesn’t work immediately. Offer tracker now shows completed for me.
William Charles: I don’t see a $400 offer anywhere on Regions.com! All they offer now is $300. Where did you get your information?
Did you click the direct link in the post? Shows fine for me.
Never mind I found it
