Reminder: Apple Card Authorized Users Earn Their Own Cashback

A reader sent in that their Apple card authorized users earn cashback to their own account, it’s not pooled into the main cardholders cashback rewards.

I hadn’t been aware of this until a reader sent it in, so I thought it worth a headsup in case anyone is missing their authorized user cashback. Definitely a unique feature we don’t see with other banks and their authorized user cards.

I see it mentioned in the Apple family card details:

Family members can use their Apple Card anywhere Mastercard is accepted and, unlike with other cards, can automatically receive Daily Cash back on their own purchases.

The cash back continues to accrue and remain on the account until you set up a savings account or request another redemption method.

I just checked my wife’s Apple Cash which wasn’t even setup and she had over $100. Thank you!

Ya this tripped me once. It showed I had received Daily Cash back from a purchase in the transaction history, but my balance didn’t reflect it. Took awhile to realize that the cash back actually went to my P2 because they made the purchase. But it was still showing in my transaction history, so there is or there used to be a bug where the cash back might show in the primary user’s Daily Cash transaction history.

This is a strange set up, AU keeps the reward but Primary cardholder takes the responsibility for the balance

Strange game. The only winning move is not to play.
