A few separate reports are all pointing to the 5% categories for the first quarter of 2023 being Amazon and select streaming services. This is the same categories as Q1 2022, and there is a chance it’s confusion with the prior year, but there are enough reports now that I’m somewhat confident of this being the case.
This is not yet able to be activated in the online login, though reader David was able to activate it over the phone. David also reports that activation only applies 2 business days after enrollment, so keep that in mind.
- Amazon.com – useful, though less-so for someone who already has a 5% Amazon credit card
- Select Streaming Services – includes Amazon Prime Video, Amazon Music, Apple Music, CBS All Access, Disney+, AT&T TV NOW, ESPN+, fuboTV, HBO Max, NBA League Pass, Netflix, Pandora, Showtime, Sling TV, Spotify, Starz, SiriusXM, Vudu, YouTube Red, YouTube TV, and Tidal

Just hung up after a long call with Citi website tech support. They confirmed that I am indeed signed up for the Q1 23 5% cashback category and that category is PayPal. I don’t know why others are saying the categories are Amazon and Streaming. Unless different cardholders get different categories? Anyway the website still is showing only last quarter’s categories with no way to sign up for Q1 23 categories. Just to be clear, this is for the Citi Dividend Mastercard which I understand is no longer offered. But is still valid and working and giving 5% cashback for existing cardholders. So if you have a Citi Dividend card and want to sign up for Q1 23 5% cashback you will need to call them.
I also went through how bad the website is with the guy I spoke to and he said they will “investigate”. Hope this helps.
You might want to confirm that with Citi. The sign up link is now showing Amazon / streaming. If you got them to give you PayPal instead, that’s a nice bonus.
Sign up for this quarter appears total mess. Still showing Q4 2022. I just called Citi and they activated it for me over the phone. Confirmed it’s Amazon and streaming. I asked the agent to file the ticket to their IT to hopefully fix this for Q2 and she told me I’m the first one with this problem. Tells me they probably don’t have many Dividend cardholders.
Just chatted with an agent, William, who stated 4%, NOT 5%, from Amazon and streaming for Q1 2023.
The email I got 12/30/2022 says “earn 5% cash back on your eligible Citi Dividend Card purchases from 01/01/2023 to 03/31/2023 at … Amazon.com … Select Streaming Services”.
Don’t believe what the chat rep tells you (though, he might’ve meant “an additional 4%”, on top of the normal 1%; the email I got also words it that way in the fine print).
I had been checking their website for several weeks late Dec 2022 and early Jan 2023 and it just showed last quarter’s category with no way to sign up/no mention of Q1 2023. Same thing today 1/7/2023. Several days ago I spent a full hour with one of their chat “agents” who clearly did not have a command of English and after a slow and torturous session the agent finally said she signed me up for the Q1 2023 5% category which she said is only PayPal. But I cannot confirm this on their website. The Citi website has been horrible for many years…you have to hunt all over the place before you finally stumble upon the link that takes you to where you have to sign up. It is and never has been obvious…they make you hunt for it. I think they do this on purpose because they don’t want people signing up for the 5% categories. I also have a Chase Freedom card with rotating 5% categories and signing up on the Chase website is very obvious and easy. Boo Citibank!!!
I just chatted with an agent who said that this quarter is “auto activated” and is just for Paypal.
New agent clarified that it’s for: Amazon.com and Select Streaming Services
Its still displaying 2022 4th Quarter’s cashback categories.
Anyone know why I got get these on my Citi Dividend card? I opened the card in 2015 if that matters. I don’t get the email and if I go here – https://www.citi.com/credit-cards/dividend-quarterly-offer – it says, “No Offers Available
Currently there are no offers available for your Citi Double Cash® Card-xxx ending in xxxx through the Limited Time Offers page. But we’re adding offers all the time so check back soon and often!”
Anyone know why?
No idea. But when I go to that page, I just see the 2022 q4 offer. So I still can’t sign up for q2.
I get the same message. I have not received an email with a link. Can someone who has received share the link that they followed?
Still nothing for me. No email with an activation link nor when I go to the Citi website am I able to sign up for the Q1 2023 offer. Bizarre.
I got the offer yesterday (12/29) and did the “one click.” But it is not showing on my account. They seem pretty messed up.
Chuck the reports are true. CITI Dividend Categories announced, I just now received an email -Amazon and select streaming!
I received the offer to enroll earlier today via email. Subject line is “One-click sign-up for your 5% cash back offer”.
Got the email this morning as well.
Received same email, Amazon & streaming for Q1. Sign-up now available.

This signs up someone else’s account for the bonuses. No prompt to login, but goes right to the confirmation page. dividends quarterly offer page not yet updated for me.
Yeah, let me remove that link, I’m not sure if Howard realizes it shows personal info
Oops. Thanks for removing.
