Multiple reports (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) suggest that gift cards purchased in Lululemon stores are no longer working to trigger the $75 quarterly Lululemon statement credit on the American Express Platinum card. The apparent change took place last week, around October 5, 2026.
It seems likely that Lululemon has changed how gift card purchases are coded in the system and they no longer work to trigger the statement credit. Even buying a gift card + a product in the same transaction is only resulting in credit for the product and not for the gift card.
For context, gift cards were always excluded in the terms. Physical gift cards stopped being sold online in March 2026, but physical gift cards purchased at Lululemon stores still worked. Then, they started limiting the gift card denominations available. Now, gift cards purchases aren’t getting a statement credit at all.
Going forward, I’d assume that only normal product purchases will trigger the $75 quarterly credit.
