Deals are still active but they still show the 4/1 end date, so probably not safe to apply.
The revamped American Express Delta cards are now live, for a full list of changes you can read this post. In addition to the changes we knew about and the increased annual fees there are also some increased sign up bonuses available until April 1st, 2020. The increased bonuses seem to be the standard increased bonuses on these cards and then an additional anniversary bonus on your first year card anniversary (this requires paying the annual fee). The anniversary bonuses are as follows:
- Delta Platinum: 20,000 miles ($250 annual fee)
- Delta Reserve: 20,000 miles ($550 annual fee)
- Delta Gold: 10,000 miles ($99 annual fee)
Some people were also wondering if the annual fee on the gold card would still be waived first year and it currently is. Overall the offers themselves are good, but nothing exceptional. It probably makes the gold and platinum cards keeping for the second year due to the anniversary bonuses, less so the reserve card unless you get a lot of use from the lounge benefit.
F.A.Q’s
Are these considered new cards for sign up bonus purposes?
No, these are the same cards just with a new annual fee and slightly different benefits. Whenever American Express has made changes like this (and even when they changed the actual card name) it was never treated as a new product for the purposes of getting the sign up bonus an additional time.
I have a Gold card, and I haven’t used the miles that I earned during the first year. About 75,000 left. Last month I was billed an annual fee. Is there any way to transfer the remaining miles into my Delta account so that they don’t disappear after I cancel the card?
They should already be in your Delta skymiles account?

It looks like the anniversary bonus is for the new cards only and is being offered as a “one time bonus” according to the terms and conditions of the card. You can see the terms and conditions here: https://www.americanexpress.com/us/credit-cards/card-application/apply/prospect/terms/delta-skymiles-platinum-american-express-card/28009-10-0/#offer-terms
I opened the Delta Platinum AMEX card in early January, back then there was no global entry reimbursement. Does this new policy of global entry credit apply to my card as well effective today or after 1st anniversary? THANK YOU!
Hi William Charles Chuck I see 100K offer for both Platinum and Reserve delta cards. Gold still has 70K.

I have the gold card. The spend tracker for the annual 10k is tracking all spend from January 1 rather than today. That is a pleasant surprise.
I got the email for the Platinum and when I select the apply button, it takes me to the site where I can chose between the Reserve (100K), Platinum (100), and Gold (70K). On all three, I checked the offer terms and I don’t see the ‘lifetime verbiage’?
Am I missing something here or am I good to go without having to worry about the lifetime language?
Confirmed…I just checked the Amx page and that does have the lifetime verbiage, but my email link does not!
Yeah baby!!!
Mine didn’t have one either. I applied and didn’t get the “you’re not eligible for the bonus” message so I went for it.
Is there a link to info on the anniversary bonuses? I.e. how to get it, when it posts, how long this promotion will be running, etc. Cant find any info online except for this post.
Do you get the companion certificate in the first card member year when you pay the card fee or is it until the next year when you renew?
Renew for year two.
United and AA club cards both refund remaining club membership fees but I don’t see anything on the Reserve about refunding fees. Does anybody know?
DL Reserve card gives free access for primary card holder (as does Amex Platinum card); it doesn’t charge then refund, is that what UA and AA cards do?
No, I mean for people who have paid for an annual club membership.
The membership route seems like a bad deal. Currently, the individual membership fee is $495 and executive is $795 (can bring up to two guests free). Even with the annual fee going up, isn’t the Reserve card a better option for individuals than paying for membership without the Reserve? I can understand if you often travel with two family members and need the Executive, or maybe your company is giving you the Individual membership as a perk, but that’d be a rare treat from a generous employer (are there any left?). Even if you’re a small business owner and want to consider the membership fee a business expense, why not just get the Reserve business card (just $65 more than the membership, but also other perks, namely the initial signup bonus)?
Some of us can expense a membership but not a credit card fee.
So the anniversary bonus is only a one-time thing, right, not every year thereafter?
I see the Blue card also has an increased bonus of 15,000 miles.
